[Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Well I Decide to do a full frame build , like i've always wanted to. So I'll have a full new frame, porterbuilt dropmember, doored on 22", with a 350 sbc with tri-power, and 4 wheel disc brakes. Its going to be old-skool with a modern twist.
Thanks to Josh (abadsvt) and Nathan (porterbuilt) for all your helps so far. Here are some frame table pictures. the tables 15'x64" and stand about 2.5" of the ground... http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSC01057-1.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSC01058-1.jpg I started the frame rails @11:30am today and got the main rails all tacked together by 8:00pm Now for the frame pictures....:metal: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00001.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00002.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00004.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00003.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00005.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00008.jpg |

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Looks Great! How high is that rear section? I know you are planning on running some tall tires. Just curious. You need to slow done on how fast things are coming together though. You can't pass me up. LOL!!!!!!! Anyways keep up the great work.

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
What kind of a band saw are you using? Looking good so far but please keep teh rocker on the truck! Just my opinion (but it is the most important just ask me I will tell you) but doored 67-72's just dont look good at all. Keep the full body and still lay it out, heck if you can do 22's and doored why not do 24's and bodied?
Keep up the progress! Kevin LFD Inc. |
Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
subscribing...gotta see this
|
Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
no bandsaw, just a home depot chopsaw. sorry the rockers are gone already besides everyone is layin body, got to be somewhat different. i know the porportions are off so i might chop the to 1.5-2" to help. thanks

Then I am also the guy who deals with owners, designers, city and state when needed. Most of the time I am just an over paid baby sitter:lol: You do HVAC right? I have a question about a vent system for my shop I will have to PM you about. Ok now back to your normaly sheduled program! Kevin LFD Inc. |
Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Well Heres an UPDATE. Made a rear cross member with 5 Speed hole in it, took alot longer than i thought. turned out pretty decent......
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00015.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00014.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00013.jpg Than I got most of the frame gussets welded on the side of the frame, got all the joints welded and smoothed. Then took the frame outside to see it on the ground for the first time.....:metal: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00016.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00017.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00020.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00019.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/DSC00018.jpg |

Damn, I hope mine turns out "pretty decent" on your scale. ;) |
Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Looking sweet! I like the rear 5 hole brace! Is there a reason why you only have some gussets welded on? Keep up the great work and nice looking welds.
