Porterbuilt Front Stage 1 Install.

5 Attachment(s)
Seems alot of people ask about installing a Porterbuilt Stage 1 front bag kit so I thought I'd post pictures of my install. I took lots and lots of pictures so it will be more than one post. I'm not an expert photographer or installer but it will give you a general ideal. I'm starting out with the springs and spindles removed. I had replaced my ball joints earlier and also redid my control arm shafts, so I'm starting with a clean slate . This was installed on a 68 c10 so if you have a different year it may vary a little. Here goes....... Hope you don't mind Nate

When you go to mount the drivers side upper shock mount you may run into this

Re: Porterbuilt Front Stage 1 Install.

I'm waiting on my spindles before I install the shocks but I'll post pictures when I install them. There are several threads you can search and reference before you install your front air bags. Here's a nice chart that shows the different hieghts with the different components. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=609897 The Porterbuilt kit is very nice and everything is labeled nicely, another big plus is Porterbuilt will answer any question you have.

No I don't work for PorterBuilt but I'd sure like to. Think they could pay me in crossmembers.

where was this thread about two mounts ago? it sure does bring back memories. I want to add two notes things, test your bags, lines & fittings, to make sure they hold air pressure. my front bags wouldn't hold air for more than a few hours. I had to redo everything. also if you are running stock rally wheels, grinding of the lower control arm, around the ball joint area, may be necessary. larger diameter wheels makes this concern, grinding of the control arm, disappear. I am waiting until I can afford a nice pair of wheels b4 I run the streets of Miami. good luck to all. 1moretime, I'm gonna watch this thread. I wanna see your finished product. :metal:

Dumb question, never bagged one of these trucks but are shorter shocks/relocated a must or will stock?

Will the stock hold you up?
