Nicely done! I'll follow this along too. I've never seen that much re-pop metal go down without any drama. See guys installing all this x-bracing and such to hold it true but the doors still don't fit worth a sh!t. I didn't read the whole thing but did notice that you have six lug wheels? Thought you were using the '72 stuff?

Thanks! Yup there's a lot of aftermarket metal there! Aftermarket stuff always needs to be worked/tweeked to fit but for the most part it fit pretty decent! Ive seen a lot of x-bracing too and a lot of it is overkill! I tried to do the cab alittle different by removing the floor section while keeping the original rockers as lower braces. I used my rotisserie door bars as the upper braces. Doors alighn perfect (so far) lol. I do have the 72 five lug stuff but I think I've decided to keep it 6 lug. I like the narrower diff to run a fatter/deeper dished wheel. I think I'm going to buy the 6lug disc conversion for the front and see how the deep 15x8 looks all the way around?

The front track is wider than the rear already and when you do the disk conversion up front it'll get wider yet. I'd use big-n-littles to offset that difference some.

Ya I will have to do some rim/tire fitting to get the right stance once I get my cab and box back on!

And the last bit of paintwork for now was to put some matt clear over the dash before the windshield goes in!

Got the windshield in today! Gotta love the look of a new clear windshield! I ordered up the green tinted style and so far it looks pretty good. And of course my little guy gave it the thumbs up of approval!

I also went out and picked up the longbox frame thats going to be cut down! Frames nice and straight but its got a few issues that will need to be addressed.
My wife even showed up in the 68 to help! Lol

Windshield looks great ,your little guy is so cute posing in there too. It's good to have a wife into the old projects too ,you got it pretty good.

Yup I'm not going to complain! kids like to help and she gives me my garage time and puts up with me buying lots of cars and parts! She's not really into the whole patina, air ride thing (yet) as she likes fancy wheels and paint jobs but i compremised and told her the old truck will have a "like new interior" for her when we cruise around!

Looking good! How tough was the windshield install? I've watched the videos that Precision puts up and it doesn't look very fun.
