$95K Blazer

That Blazer/Truck/Street Rod is for sale again. Don't know if it just hasn't sold the first few times it has been listed or if it keeps changing hands. It is pretty cool, but they shouldn't have put the top on it.

I like it, i think the top is a good idea incase of rain...another half cab! But wait, does it come off or what? Doesnt look like it....in that case that is pretty lame, a waist of a blazer! Is it chopped too or what? Finished by Boyd Coddington, who started it? Pretty cool.....not sure about $95K cool though.....thanks for the link.

Yeah $9500 does kind of seem steep! And no i didn't forget a zero!

bouncytruck 09-30-2004 07:32 PM

It has been wrecked an rebuilt at least once.

pierce 09-30-2004 08:06 PM

The top looks fused to the body. I'd be bummed to find out I couldn't go topless :whine: . Maybe the top pops off?

FRENCHBLUE72 09-30-2004 09:32 PM

Lot's of famous people have worked on that blazer but imo I don't care for the way it look's... 707 why did you change you screen name????

707 Blazer Punk 10-01-2004 06:27 AM

 I didnt change my name, i have no idea what you're talking about :D ;) Josh didnt want 71 Blazer cst man commin 'round these parts no more :(

chevy_fatman 10-01-2004 07:29 AM

I don't think the top comes off and that would be a waste of a nice blazer IMO.

707 if josh said buh bye, might wanna keep it that way  :D

Sweet truck.

95K?

I don't care if Boyd built it, it's still a wee bit excessive.

Didn't know they made a 68 Blazer?

2wdBlazer 10-01-2004 12:18 PM

Definate waste of a Blazer.

bouncytruck 10-01-2004 12:27 PM

I do like the paint & wheels, I just don't understand why they started with a Blazer if they wanted a pickup.

frost89434 10-03-2004 12:50 PM

Not to my liking

Dave Reed 10-06-2004 12:01 AM

I think it rocks. Removable top would be a big bonus though. Did any notice the exhaust seems to exit only one side. I can't tell if it is bad pic or that is the way it is.

Kiss My SS 10-06-2004 01:13 AM

You would think that for $95,000 they would have like 50 pictures, not 5

LUV2XCLR8 10-06-2004 03:50 PM

BOYD CODDINGTON - :whine:

OVERALL CONCEPT -

FIXED HARD TOP -

PAINT JOB - :metal:

WHEELS - :barf:

$95,000.00 - :bs:

BUT IT IS A - :bowtie:

bouncytruck 10-06-2004 04:13 PM

LUV, you don't like the wheels? I think they look pretty good.

GMC71k20 10-06-2004 05:30 PM

that truck has switched hands a couple times i think. almost all of the famous builders have worked on it. jesse james was working for boyd when boyd was working on that truck. the history of that truck might make it worth that much in a couple decades

$300,000 to duplicate????? Maybe it would cost that much to have 10 of them built.

LT 72 Jimmy 10-11-2004 10:26 AM

If you want a two seat truck with a hard top, why not a SWB? I think the fixed top is a bad idea.

The price may be insane, but it would take a smalll fortune to duplicate what has been done. The truck was originally built by John (Lil John) Buttera. It has a Buttera built chassis & suspension. That's why the wheeels look funny. The roof is a truck top grafted on, so it is not removable. It was reworked at Boyd's shop 12-15 years ago, and most recently rebuilt by Alan Johnson. Is it worth 95k? Probably not. Could you have it built for any less? Probably not....

The metal work on this thing is awesome. If you have doubts about the quality take a look at the gaps in the pics. I assure you that takes "many" shop hours-

bouncytruck 10-11-2004 11:38 AM

I'd like to see some pictures of the chassis. My only gripe about the truck is that they grafted a fixed roof on a convertable - just doesn't make since to me.

I dig the stance, paint and craftmanship. The dash is very cool. If I had the money, I think I would rather buy this truck.

It has been listed for sale several times in recent months. Started out at a dealership just north of Seattle for $27K. Then privately listed for $24K. It'll be interesting to see what it reaches on e-bay and if it hits the reserve.
