83 blazer problems

So the blazer had sit in the garage for some time without being started so today I decided to move it. It is a 6.2L I put in two fresh batteries and it started right up I drove it around for about 30 minutes and shut it off. When I went to start it back up it would not start. Both batteries were fresh when I started it up. When I rechecked to see what was going on you could not touch the battery cables for fear of burning your self. Is this a regulator problem or a real bad electrical issue?

How long did you try starting it? If you keep tunring the motor over and over they will get hot. Now fuel how old is it? If it is old you may have some water in it and they do not like that..

It started right up for me the first time. I drove it around and it ran great, I put some stuff in the fuel to keep it fresh (diesel 911 I think) When I tried to restart it it would not crank over fast enough to fire it off. I cleaned the battery post and tried again but the same thing. Today when I tried it just clicks so now I am wondering if the starter is bad You can hear the solenoid click in but it will not turn over so I am sure that the solenoid is good. I thought that I had a short but I went through and checked everything and it reads out good

Even if you jump it off it will not start? Ya it may be a starter. Did you say you used new batteries?

I think that I figured out the problem. actually a series of problems. First the grounding bar on the solenoid was all dirty so I cleaned that up and installed new cables for the starter etc. When I tightened down the battery cables this time I put a washer on top so that they are tight. Fired up and ran good last night charging volts of 14 when running so I feel that is good
