Question about Aeroquip A/C Hoses

Aeroquip sells A/C specific hoses for custom routing of A/C lines.

Here's an example: -6 AN 6ft hose for $67.95

They also sell TFE Racing hose that sells for almost 50% less than the A/C branded hoses: -6 AN 6ft hose for $35.95

The TFE line can be used with Nitrous so that tells me it will hold a pressurized gas. It also has a much higher pressure rating than the A/C specific hose. The biggest difference besides price is the material. The A/C hose is made from nylon while the TFE hose is Teflon.

Is there a reason why I should pay 50% more for A/C branded hose when it appears the TFE hose will do the same job???

Re: Question about Aeroquip A/C Hoses

Has something to do with the chemicals that they are interacting with.

Be careful mixing one type of fitting with a different manufacturers\type of hose. While the i.d. is the same, the o.d.s' can be different. Aeroquip is the only one that I was able to find that had the fittings for ac.

Yea I hear ya. I didn't plan on doing anything without knowing for sure they would work. I'll probably end up with he a/c branded parts but had to ask the question.
