99-00 6.0l flywheel gm# 12561757(nv4500) not available?aftermarket options?

i'm having a hard time finding a flywheel for my 2000 6.0l/nv4500 combo. i think its gm#12561757(discontinued) but i could be wrong. any ideas or options? hopefully a short crankshaft install isn't the only option.

ah ha! maybe? sachs pn# W0133-1688543? anyone have experience with the ol' iron head 6.0l (long crank)? i'm not too confident seeing as discount auto parts on ebay says this will also fit a 6.5:lol:. guess i'll look it up a few other places.

The chevy 6.5 is a diesel engine,, I don't know if it will fit your early 6.0 or not..the dealership should be able to cross reference part numbers for you..I think the iron head 6.0 and the 4.8 carry the same flywheel..everybody told me to shy away from the iron head 6.0 and go with the aluminum head version..so that's what I did

thats what i'm skeptical about.some computer geek messed up the listing but i don't think i have a lot of options other than seeing if it will fit the ls.anyway the whole truck was 500$ from a friend since he accidentally did some extreme bodywork to the cab with his excavator:sumo:

hmm it gets deeper, it seems theres a single mass flywheel conversion for the 6.5 i wonder if thats related somehow? arggg!

so the sachs flywheel is a misrepresentation of the nfw 1043 for a 6.5l. i've ordered it from two different places and got the same thing with one place sending me two for good measure. i wound up ordering one used from a wrecking yard, hopefully that won't have gremlins of its own.:waah:

1050 Sachs, 4.8/6.0....its on a 5.3, but the 5.3 was never listed with a stick trans? If you really plan to rev it...Mcleod lists a billet wheel, tad pricey, but it will bolt the gen I clutch, with no mods ;) On my app, I went with the gen I clutch, but had to ream 3 holes on the clutch hat to fit. The sachs wheel, takes the ls-1 metric bolts, & wheras it is pinned for location on the hat, you can use the 3 larger holes to locate, the ream the 3 smaller bolts to spec. I can buzz mine to 6000 +, & she don't vibe....longhorn

i wish i could use a later model flywheel for the motors with the crank almost flush with the seal. but unfortunately 99-00 m/t motors have .400 more crank stickout from the rear of the block compared to the 5.3's(a/t) and later engines. i'll probably get a later engine or crank when its time to rebuild.

I am new to the LS crowd, but just a thought....will the ls 1 wheel fit the early long crank truck engines? It is .400 thinner than the truck wheel? There was a bit of confusion on the fit on the truck flywheel (Oriellys auto)....I told the gal, sell it to me (57 bones)....if it don't measure up, I will bring it back;) Yes, I did see that the 99-00, some had the long crank....not sure where it would put your starter gear, or clutch differences, but the ls 1 flywheel is .400 thinner than the truck pc? longhorn
