This was discussed in another thread so I thought I would go ahead and get this started.

Here is what I have. It is an old aluminum cap that I picked up for nothing that I shortened to match my in between long and short bed truck. It is currently at 7' instead of the typical 6 1/2' short bed.

The camper was brown when I got it... 2 new window shocks, 2 rolls of painters tape, 4 cans of gray spray paint and 2 of black for the trim and she looks BE Eee Aye You TIFUL!

Love this thread. What dimensions should the base of the shell be for a short and wide bed (like Outkasts?) Keeping my eyes open locally for an old aluminum shell for my 80 SWB.

I was fortunate enough to buy mine from someone that had it on an 80 something short bed K10 so, I knew it fit. I will measure it tonight and post up the dimensions.

57 Chief... love it! I have the same racks for mine but, I am in the process of polishing them (they are aluminum) before I put them back on. Super cool though.

My shell is 78 3/4 long, front to back not counting the little lip in the front and 72 3/4 wide.

Here is the topper that came with my truck. If it didnt seem to rain every time I go to pick something up I probably would have ditched it by now.

It's a "Raven" camper shell, Paid $100 for it years ago. Comes in handy now and then.
