Im considering selling my truck later this year as we may be expanding upon the family.;) I would like to get a feel for what you all think it would be worth when the time comes. Here are the facts and figures...

1980 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe
SWB Fleetside
78k original miles
305/th350 (soon to be replaced with a 350/th400)
A/C, manual windows and locks
Factory rubber flooring with PO installed "patio carpet" mats...dont laugh, they work great!
Camel interior, seat has rips on DS, dash is perfect
10 bolt 2.56 open rearend
Undercoating installed years ago by original owner

What I have done:
Rear flip kit
Ground Force 2.5" spindles and 2" springs
New ball joints and brakes
New "lowered" shocks all around
Pioneer deh-3800 CD player and aftermarket 4x10s in the cab corners
Silverstar Headlights
New turn signals, tail lights and parking lights
15x8 rallys with BFG Radial T/As with 1k miles on them
New window felts on both sides
Intermittent wipers
New chrome front bumper and metal rollpan (not yet installed)

The paint is original and by no means perfect and there is a dent in the rear DS of the bed from the PO.

Re: 1980 C10

How about this, instead of coming up with a number (which i know will vary greatly by region) tell me what you think of my price. I was thinking of asking $3200 as it sits or trade for a '87-91 Burb or 3+3. Am I off base or spot on?

Thanks
Kris

Go for the 'burb. These crew cabs are LONG! Most women hate driving something as long as a burb,... the crew cab is worse. Plus,... most burbs have three rows of seating! Kids love the back seat. Good luck.

I would ask at least $3500 for it -- if you are comfortable with $3200, that gives you a little dicker room

We had a '90 3/4 ton Burb about a year ago but feeding the 454 was killing us. It was a nice truck, great shape and plenty of room. The wife caught me off guard when she said she actually liked it.

That doesnt sound like a bad idea. Now the question is should I put any more money into it if I may end up selling it? I was going to put about $800 into the motor as far as upgrades and dress up stuff.

Thanks, I sure like it and hate to even think of getting rid of it.

If the engine runs good, then I wouldn't put any money into it. Maybe some dress up goodies, but I don't think that engine extras will pay for themselves, and you may actually narrow your market.

Hey neighbor
I'd finish all the work you'd plan on, clean it up, remove the patio mats, take good pics, and list it for $4,900/OBO. If you put in the 350 and its a good one, go for $5,500/OBO.
Try all the usual places trader online, craigslist (various cities), thrifty nickel etc. Emphasize the rust free history of the truck....that gets the rust belt guys drooling for a trip down south to pickup a southern truck.
Its too bad Moultrie swap meet isn't till next Nov you would have a real good chance of selling there at that price.

Well its going to be at least 9 months before I would need to replace it so a trip to Moultrie might be in order. In the meantime I will continue with the engine swap and some of the smaller upgrades I have in mind. I may put a for sale sign on it and hit the weekly BK cruise ins every so often and see if I get any bites.

I'll take that as a compliment. Im digging your truck as well, especially the color.;)

I suppose first I should offer it to the guy I bought it from when/if I do sell it, the poor guys wife was starting a business and had a hard time making payroll so I got it for a good price.

New chrome bumper going on this weekend and the rollpan if I can figure out how it attaches to the truck. After that I will give her a bath and update the pics.
