Chasing leak
Any one use that flex seal clear or black yet.. How is the texture, pros, and cons.... Mainly did it work...

Re: Chasing leak
You might want to try to fix it the right way, and/or post the problem before rigging it with TV BS fixes...

Re: Chasing leak
I used it to coat my inner wheel wells and inner fenders... So far not too bad. I used it on part of my frame on accident by overspray and it isn't scratched off yet. Some area's have come off due to poor prep on my fault...

Re: Chasing leak
I have a leak some where by my vent. .. and it could be coming throw my wire loom from door to can. .
|
Re: Chasing leak
Through the wire loom? Seems odd. How would water be getting down there? Is the seal on the cowl in place? And i agree with franken. Do it right the first time and forget it.

Re: Chasing leak
all that stuff is is undercoat marketed well and sometimes in clear.. but again fix it right replace the seal that's leaking

Re: Chasing leak
I took passenger kick panel off it looks fine.. basically just going to start pouring some water down the front and side, hopefully see where it's coming from..
|
Re: Chasing leak
Probably the kick panel gaskets. Then again, I had the same phantom leak and it turned out hat the corner of my windshield frame was rotted
|
Re: Chasing leak
I left it outside in the snow so I can see a leak and this is what I end up with. .some how moister is getting drawn up through the floor pans... any one ever see this happen ..http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...102_181708.jpg
the other side is bone dry. . |
Re: Chasing leak
How can I fix it.. Can I just use some rust prevention paint
|
Re: Chasing leak
steel doesn't let moisture come through it unless its rotted it is coming from somewhere above prolly in the cowl or where there is a hole in the firewall or something.... keep checking
|
Re: Chasing leak
open the hood and look at the cowl area. anywhere that crap and water can sit
|
Re: Chasing leak
Ok I took off the cowl and looked at every thing... So I poured water down the side and bam water ran right out the air vent.. I think I got it fixed... If not this time ,I'll just block it off..
