July 2015 ToTM

Our July Truck of the Month (ToTM) theme is

So Ute!

You guessed it mate. With a slight play on the down-under words, our contest this month is dedicated to our full-sized Blazers and Jimmy’s. In order to compete in this month’s contest you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Open to all year Blazers and Jimmys.
  • The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck.
  • It must be road worthy and currently legal to be on the road.
  • If a truck was selected as a 2014 or 2015 TOTM winner then you are ineligible. If the truck was nominated but not selected as a TOTM winner then it may be nominated and compete in this month's category.

To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the Make/Model/Year of vehicle.

Nominees will run through June 21. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Voting Poll Thread will be set up by June 22 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The voting will run thru the morning of July 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of July 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

It's a pleasure to nominate IronCanine's 1970 Blazer and an understatement to say this is one of the best restorations of any 69-72 K5 to date. When deciding who to vote for please see the level of work and detail that went into this rebuild http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=645076. Coincidentally, I looked at this Blazer when it was sale locally (Montana) and passed it off as in need of too much work. Only later did I learn that Brad purchased the truck and had it shipped to Georgia. Brad's build has provided insight into K5s that will benefit future restorations. It's one to bookmark and reference.

I nominate David Wood's Blazer. It's a square body built from what he had and to be driven and enjoyed regardless of not having a pretty paint job and luxury interior.

Cool! I don't know my Blazers very well; it looks like the door is higher than the bed... is that normal?

Thanks Pete. That's very nice and I appreciate it. Lots of cool K5s...It's a known fact that July is the best month to go topless.

Very well said Pete and I second the nomination for Brad. Brad speaks very highly of you and you were an inspiration to him as well as myself to go a step beyond, dot the I's and cross the T's and just do it the way it should be done. Brad will get my vote for sure.

Take care,
Tom

Thanks Bill! I don't think I stand a chance of winning against these other SUPER nice Blazers, but I am extremely honored to be nominated.
