Will 73+ lower a arm u bolts fit 72 front end?
I know I keep asking Q's about the 73 up stuff but the parts houses around here carry alot of that year stuff and I don't trust thier books! Thanks.

I put '77 front end pieces, including lower control arms, on my '67. Had to buy new U-bolts (from my local Chevy dealer) and drill the existing holes up to 9/16". They went right in.

Oops, sorry; didn't read the topic correctly! My new answer is 'I don't know'.

73-87 arms will bolt to your engine cradle, yes, they use the rubber style bushings instead of the big metal solid style bushings like on all 3/4 and 1 ton trucks of all years

Maybe I'm being dense but does this mean the U bolts will work? 30 hours OT has fried my brain this week! :P***

I used a '81 donor truck for my swap and the u-bolts would NOT work. I used the old ones, rather than drill out the crossmember. You could go either way. Good luck!

Thanks, I sure don't mind drilling the holes out, especially if it means a larger bolt. Anyone know if these are a higher grade bolt are just your typical hardware store variety?

70Jimmy,i think those U bolts will be a dealer item,& a high grade fastener. if your old ones are in good shape,I would use them..........69 longhorn.

I would use them but I lost 2 of them!

i have one and can find other., oh wait, i have a whole front end, how many do you want ? i have to disassemble the front so i can hide the parts in attic because of the damn city code warning i got today
interested ? i dotn need em was gonna scrap em or something anyways they are 3/4 ton ones, IE the larger ones like you say these are not a hardware store item lol ! these are hardened steel and special shape and diameter, so... i owudnt be putting inferior bolts on somethig so important ! if they break then there goes your front end down to the pavement!!
