Wtb - vacuum canister

3 Attachment(s)
I'm looking for the vacuum canister that attaches to the fiberglass evaporator cover in my 70 350's engine compartment. I've only seen the plastic, round ones reproduced. I would like to find one without any rust and in very good condition with it's original hardware included. ( see attached pictures ) Thanks.

Interesting! My son's 70 has the plastic canister on it. I have not seen a metal one.

This is a funny thing. It seems to me that somewhere along the way, GM switched from the metal 'fruit can' type to the plastic ball type. Was this done mid-way during '70? I'm not sure. I know that my 1970 originally came the the 'can' type...but other trucks have the plastic ball type. Both are correct. But in terms of when the exact switch was made, I am not positive. It really depends on personal preference and the type of build you are doing. I personally like the look of that odd 'can' ;)

Do you have the bolts or brackets that attaches it to the evaporator cover and can you take a picture of it ?

Is it ok for me to get in line Steve now that you have yours?
If anyone has another I can use a good one myself

I'm in line for a vac can from Teeitup (see thread: Parting a 71 cheyenne that pretty original with AC) but am a long way from needing it and would give it up. He wants $20. My truck originally had the plastic can anyway. burb71 send me a PM and we'll work it out.
