cab differences

I have a 1972 truck and found a nice rust free 67 cab.. What differences are there in doing a cab swap. I noticed so far that the accelerator pedal assembly has a different bolt pattern as well as the parking brake will not bolt up.. Can anyone tell me what other differences I am going to find? If the cabs are that different, will it be better to find a 69-72 cab instead?

There are several minor differences... You can find most of them if you'll use the search engine on this site.

The doors are different... Different length of regulators, door releases are different length although the '72 doors will go on the 67 cab...

Major differences are type of e-brake. The '67 had a hand operated brake, and the '72 a foot operated unit. Also, the '72 cab had vents in the cab part of the door opening to help offset pressure when you close doors and such. "Flow-thru" was how GM advertised it I believe.

There were 2 different sized rear glass used in '67 as well. If the cab has the large window, most people would never notice the difference.

I am sure there are other differences, those come to mind immediately.

Again, use the search engine above a you'll find lots of threads. If you have access to a copy of the "Standard Catalog of American Light Duty Trucks" it documents the changes year to year.

'72 has a cable to connect the gas pedal to carb whereas '67 is linkage.

Thanks. I had a typo error on the original.. My truck is a 71. The new cab is a 67 Large Window. I thought the doors were the same from 67 to 72 with the exception of the plastic vents in the 72 years.

Re: cab differences

71 will have a raised area for rearview mirror mounting while the 67 will not.

Is there any way to identify a 67 cab from a 68? Did the 68 have a hand brake like the 67? I was told the cab I bought was a 67 however, since the cab has a large back window I was thinking it could be a 68 but not sure how to positively tell.

Re: cab differences

67-68 cabs had a totally different fuse block design. Your 69-72 wire harness will not work.
