AC Hose Connectors
1 Attachment(s)
I'm to the point where I'm going to need to buy the AC hoses for my updated ac system in my 83.
I need to know what size fitting is needed where it connects to the dryer pipe as shown in the picture. (Has the red cap on the pipe) I've done a google search and the sizes stated for the connectors say #6, #8, #10 & so on. The only difference from the factory setup is I'll be using a Sanden 508 compressor using R134 The evap & condenser is of an OEM replacement. |
Re: AC Hose Connectors
Here's a link to a PDF I use a lot.
file:///C:/Users/Jonez/AppData/Local/Temp/Fittings.pdf I started using the Eaton EZ Clip System in Afghanistan & have used them ever since http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsS...clip/index.htm The ATCO folks also have the Air O Crimp system, a little different than the Eaton but same principle. |

And I don't know what the suction fitting size is. If there's a local refrigeration outfit they may be able to tell you what the fitting type and size is by looking at the accumulator or the original 1983 hose end. No shame in cutting the old hose to liberate the connector for a comparison. |

Hey what do I know? I'm just an old mechanic, not a computer Wizard!
I just ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em go!;) Try this link here & scroll down some until you see fitting size designation Atco products https://www.google.com/search?q=atco...firefox-b-1-ab |
Re: AC Hose Connectors
Well,if you were here in south Mississippi,I could probably match it up for you!
I make hoses and have a huge supply of parts. Your best bet is to take it to your local a/c shop and they can fix you up. Mike.:chevy: |

#8. You using beadlock or barbed fittings? I'm going thru this myself with my 85. I got to the point your at and realized my hose fittings don't match up to the factory components ( I got the same drier as you). Either go to a hydraulic/hose shop and have them make your " one of a kind hoses) or do like I did and bought the v/a evap kit so it's not all cobbled together.

Heres the list I bought. I am using a 87-88 dryer. not sure if its the same fitting as yours but it probably is. the 12-10 90 is what connects to the dryer.
