How to mount radio??

I am going to install an aftermarket deck into my 92 gmc. I have removed the old tape deck and radio. I have the outer trim piece (with the vents) but was wondering what i mount the actual radio to? Am i missing another piece?

Re: How to mount radio??

There are two different types that I have seen. One the radio will have a sleeve that slides off for mounting in the dash kit. It will lock on so you will have to read the directions for it to see how to unhook it. Once it is off you slide the sleeve into the dash kit and bend the tabs up to mount it to the kit. Then the radio slides back in and locks in place. Or the radio will have small screw holes on the side that line up with the dash kit sides. All parts needed usually come with the dash kit/radio. Hope that makes sense to ya.

ya, i put the sleeve into the trim and bent the tabs. Just wondering what i can do to secure the radio in there a little better. maybe screw it down to the bracket in cubby space?
