Hi
Got this Jimmy back in March, and used this forum to search issues and help guide me through putting the motor back in and cleaning it up. Thank you for all the help, I have finally become a member here as well. So far changed wheels took off molding and did some serious cleaning, now it is running and a rolling project! Some before and after pics.

Looks like you have a great start. the engine compartment looks alot better! Are you planning on putting new trim back on? What are the rest of your plans for it?

Thanks, no I am going to fill the holes from the molding. I need to do interior, carpet, paint and work through the suspension. I was trying to work the free/cheap stuff first with spray cans and elbow grease. Just want to make it a nice driver for the family weekends.

It has been a while since a new post on this site. I have accomplished some progress on the Jimmy since I was last on.
I have replaced the steering gearbox with a new RedHead gearbox. Thanks to all of the good things you all said about them.
Also, replaced the draglink.
Replaced all of the body mount Bushings with Energy Suspension mounts. LOOONG process!
I also had to replace a rocker panel as it was rusted out.
Finally I have spent hours on grinding the whole tub with a wire wheel and spraying in Als Liner again thank you for the recommendation. Stuff was so easy to use.

I would love to post pics of all of it, but for the life of me can't figure out how. The FAQ's section says to create an album, but under CP I don't have an option to manage pics and Albums. Any help is appreciated.

Here is a pic of the cab with after I shot it with Al's Liner, I first brushed and rolled it on as high as I could up on the firewall, then shot it in.
The other pic is the redhead steering box, it did eliminate alot of the slop, but not all, I think I may be chasing down ball joints in my future, but any recommendations are accepted.

Ok,
I did not start this thread correctly nor did I have all the right pics in place. This is a pic of my inspiration for getting a jimmy/blazer. This is my Dads 1970 blazer that he has owned since 1972! From 1970-1972 it served a sentence of towing Steve McQueens car! My Dad has driven across the US in it. It is totally original CSt package and has been in many of my childhood memories. After years of begging him to store it at my house, we decided on a project of my own. I am trying to get my 4 year old son hooked too and I tell him he can have the Jimmy when he is 16 and I will buy a slammed 2 wheel drive blazer!

Yours and your dads both look great. I'll be getting some als liner ordered very soon for both my jimmy and the C-10.
