Power Steering Box

I am replacing the steering box on my K5/Blazer. Any info on the AGR boxes, rebuilt unit, other choices or best place to purchase.

Couldn't help notice you're a bretheran VOLUNTEER. What part of TN? Sorry not much help on the steering box, never had to buy one yet.

NICE Blazer in your avitar. You have got to post some pics.

GO VOLS!

I would go with the agr box I put one on my 72 2wd and am very impressed with it bolts right on and damn is it tight something the old box never was.. If it were me and I bought one for a 4wd I would get a 2wd box and convert to crossover steering..

I got a rebuilt power steering box from Kragon Auto, it cost about $180.00 / with exchange. I am happy with it.

Thanks to everyone for the replys.

Orangeuavol, I'm in middle TN about 2 hours west of Knoxville and I'm also a Big Orange Fan. I have been watching your restoration and would like to see it when its finished. I'm usually in Knoxville alot during football season.

LUV2XCLR8 and Frenchblue72, with the AGR unit did you also use an AGR power steering pump or use your stock pump. Luv, would like to see your Blazer too.

Here's some pics of mine.

I my wife bought me the agr for my b-day and after the 345 she paid she was a little short for the 140$ pump but the truck still has a long ways to go before it gets on the road,, Very nice blazer...

Just bought a reman box thru the local Federated parts store for my '79, was $140 plus they made me pay for shipping since it was a special order. Its very tight, no slop. Not sure if the AGR box claims to be better than original, but if you just want a stock replacement you might want to check out your local sources.
