Factory GM only truck graphics
So Ive been expanding my horizons a little and checking out other areas of the board with all those late model () 73 and up trucks. I had forgotten that there have actually been quite a few trucks offered with factory graphics.
Anyone actually have them on their own rides? Lets keep it 67 and up GM products only please. I think anything GM is fair game, Vans, Vegas etc. Post pics if you collect them, even if its not your own ride. I personally like the 72 stuff. Hot Rod magazine did one with the factory graphics on a red van and added their own personal touches. I think it was pretty cool. I have some pics to put up, but of course my honey just got home. Time to visit with her for a bit. |

Cool pace truck.
So Ill probably have to amend my post. I was looking at some of the pics I saved and now I think some of them were just graphics added by the owners. I have a bunch of pics but these are my favs so far. Honestly I think most of these came from board member SKT ... man that guy has a ton of cool pictures he posts! Im still looking for the red van Hot Rod did. I know I have pics in a folder somewhere haha. |

This thread is rated CG!
This is a 1 of 10 factory Bi-Centennial Bonanza. There were 500 Bi-Centennial Editions but only 10 were Bonazas, according to the story. The graphics were an extra. Most just got a special red, white, and blue interior. This one is a survivor |

With today's tech , those can certainly be duplicated with a wrap

Re: Factory GM only truck graphics
I've never been into graphics. Give me a good clean truck that says a lot without the aide of added flash. BUT.... they are so retro! And retro is so cool!!! If I could build a collection of trucks, as originally planned, I would have my sign painter friend 'paint' on the Eagle graphics on an unlikely '72, like a K/20 or C/30 frame-mount camper cab. He does vinyl too now, but to paint it would add so much cool factor, IMO

Re: Factory GM only truck graphics
I like some. Like the orange one CG posted. Others look kind of corny. But corny or not, if I got my hands on an original, there is no way I would change one thing.
Except the oil...Maybe. |
Re: Factory GM only truck graphics
Minus the goofy roof wing, I really dig "the Impact" graphics.

The cool graphics were offered in 72. Obviously Hot Rod added the rest. I saw them on the Mod Bods brochure. At least I think that's what it was called. I have a copy around here somewhere.

And now we know where the Avalanche came from ...

That Sno-Chaser gets me. Pay extra for fancy appearance package to take out in the snow to get all rotted up. What does the cab extender have to do with snow? The old man in his 6-banger base trim K/10 with G80 and stock skinny tires could do better
I had Sunchaser pics but can't find them. How about an Indy Pace truck and factory Sport models? |

How bout the Gentleman Jims?

I like those. Not really a special graphics rig, other than the name on the bedside. But they were a special 2-tone. They have a really nice interior. There was one not far from here for sale about 5 years ago, original paint and just lowered some. It was sitting out by the road, I had looked it over, and was considering talking to the guy about making a deal. The owner left it out when we got a snow. Next time I drove by the driver's door was caved in from the snow plow throwing heavy wet snow at it... bummer.
There was also the Beau James, a French truck  |
Re: Factory GM only truck graphics
Stripes on the hood, same color center between the trim, grill and wheels, Gentleman Jim lettering and all done in gold ... That's graphics baby haha!
