Need help selecting a clutch kit

I am getting ready to do some major work on my 72 k20. I am going to be putting in a roughly 450-500 crank hp 383 in it, and also will be rebuilding the sm465 and np205 while it’s all out. I will be replacing the flywheel, and all the clutch components. It has been a long time since I’ve messed with clutch stuff (that isn’t just stock replacement), so I have no idea of what would be a good choice. I plan on using it as a daily driver, but will also use it to tow other projects, and will also be used as a trail rig. Looking for something that will handle the power and load, but will also last and have good street manners. Thank you in advance for the advice.

When it comes to the 12" clutch in front of an SM465, just about any stock replacement is up to the task at hand. So much more leverage and friction surface than the smaller diameter clutches, just doesn't much matter.

I just put a LUK diaphragm clutch in my '86 K30 along with a new LUK flywheel. $150 in parts including shipping.

PO had a metallic puck clutch in it and detritus ruined the pilot bearing. Why they went that route I'll never know, but I wouldn't consider anything like that for anything but towing on pavement. I went back with a bushing and consider that a lifetime repair at this point.

I have a 500 hp big block mated up to a SM465 with an NP205 T case and run a Centerforce 2 Clutch and pressure plate combo. I have not had any issues at all with the set up and when the petal hits the floor its got nothing but grab. Hard to go wrong with a Centerforce 2 set up.
