Yes I am, I have several pieces of furniture in the house that I made from Mesquite, it's a beautiful wood with a clear finish, nice redish brown color. Also the wood is very hevy so maybe it will help with traction ;). My back yard is full of Mesquite Trees!

I looked into getting Mesquite wood for my truck, I just love the red-ish color when it is dried, besides it is almost indestructible and heavy as heck, but what I found was it is too expensive for me to buy ready to sand and finish.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I buy mine unfinished and run it through my planer and joiner (tuff on blades), price is not too bad unfinihsed but still a pricey wood. I also like hickory another heavy hard wood, my kitchen cabinets are knotty hickory.

My Dad called me and asked me if I wanted the truck before he sold it. We were about to have our 4th child and I needed a bigger house so I told him to sell it so he could get a late model truck. That one cost me big time, but water under the bridge now.

If I could have found it then I would have used it, but it was probably used to pay the federal debt to China.... I bet it has been turned into steel rebar for China's interstate system. Boy there is some salt in a wound... But since I couldnt get it I settled for a replacement.

Oh and you should be able to do 30-75 sideways... :exit:

LOL I hope so!

Thanks Coulter, not near the fabrication of your build, man I'm just a parts replacer compared to you. I love your photos as well.

Floor is holding up, the glossy shine is gone but the paint is still stuck, have welded over it, hit it with a plasma cutter and parts cleaner so far with no problems. It's much easier to clean for sure.

Got the front end together, she has a sway bar for the first time :metal:

May have tires and wheels tomorrow, disc brakes next week, transmission next week things are looking up.

Seems like I'm always waiting on parts but fact is this build is only 34 days old, time flies when you're having fun. :ito:

Here are some more shop pics. This is the original 30x40 shop I built 7 years ago. You could not walk in this shop 60 days ago and the floor was not painted.

This photo is on the engine side it has a loft area in the corner for storage.

This photo is the oposite corner, loft is on the right.

Standing under loft area looking towards overhead doors, walk thru door on right goes to new shop area

Standing in front of boat looking back at walk thru door to old shop. No I don't play golf, the kubota is mine the cart is my wifes. We live on 5 acres so she uses it to get around

This is a work bench I built 7 years ago, I love this thing, it weighs about 350lbs (guessing)
