Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I saw in another thread, someone had posted a whole sheet of GM PRO numbers for brake boosters. The JM3 reads booster, brake, 240mm high flow, while the JM5 reads booster, brake, 200mm high flow. I'm not sure what difference the milometer size has to do with anything. Also, would it be better to grab one of these boosters off of a early 2000's S-10 at the junk yard, or would it be better to buy one at a local parts store like NAPA, etc??

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I looked for an edit feature, couldn't find one. Anyway, RPO not PRO. I saw quite a few of the JM3 boosters in a local hard in early 2000's S-10 blazers. How much of a PITA are they to pull out of the truck?

I can't answer the other questions, but if you're asking if better to buy used or new....I'd think everyone would say New. Unless your funds don't allow. Mine is from a c1500, forget the year.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Which is better, new or used, depends on your preference and budget. With a rebuilt one, you will need a core or pay the core charge. Pulling a used booster can take some time as there is quite a bit that needs to be removed before you can get to the nuts on the studs and the pushrod on the brake pedal. You will need a long extension or two and a swivel socket or a universal joint.

The money doesn't bother me either way. I just wasn't sure if buying one from NAPA or another parts store was better or worse, based on it seems like replacement parts are sometimes pretty ****ty these days.

Personally I'd worry about how long the thing say and if the diagram is therefore cracked on used.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

In my experience the original GM boosters can last a long time. Hook one up to engine vacuum and see if it holds vacuum. If so, the diaphram is good.

I was wondering if you ship internationally? And how much it is for the 67-72 booster bracket with hydraulic clutch conversation

Captainfab 08-09-2017 11:13 PM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Yes I ship worldwide. The price for the '67-'68 or '69-'72 booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch conversion is exactly the same as in post #1 of the for sale thread seen here.

Shipping that large box to Canada is quite expensive. The shipping alone is about $64.00 USD. Many of my Canadian customers have a delivery address just this side of the border.

Being a fabricator I was a little hesitant to buy something I could make myself with a little effort. I received my adapter bracket (powder coated) in the mail and was very impressed with the quality of the bracket. Packaging, weld and powder coat quality was second to none. Thanks for supplying a quality product!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I'm interested in this bracket. It makes for a very clean setup. I do have a question. I have a factory tilt column that I bought from Kevsclassics. Looking at where the shift arm is in relation to the center-line of the brake push rod, an 8" dual booster might be a tight fit.

Can anyone confirm that an 8" dual booster such as the Inline Tubing unit http://r.ebay.com/dYzdyl will fit with the factory tilt column shift arm?

Thanks!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

From what info I have received from a couple past customers, you must use a booster that is smaller than 10" in diameter. If it were me, I would go with a 9-9.5" diameter dual diaphram booster.

All of my booster brackets now come with slotted booster mounting holes to also accept aftermarket universal boosters with the 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" center to center mounting studs.
