I keep my eyes open. Finding the wheels, rings and caps together in good shape is rare at least for me.
The set on my blazer are from a few different trucks that I have found over the years.

This is a fairly big job because once the front cowl has been moved (rotated) forward, your doors and fenders will have to be realigned for proper gaps.

I have everything loose to the headlights that I think would affect the movement. I figured it would take some time and patience but windshield header wont move. I will take out the two front body shims and see what happens. I have lifted, lowered shimmed and re shimmed only to have been lucky enough to break the pass side glass and chip paint. should I pull the front end and start from scratch.
Thanks for response and nice build by the way

I can't seem to move windshield header for now so...I found some needed parts, original seats with backs and hardware, tailgate top seal and rear carpetstrip.

I am going to replace the door dust seals when the front end back on. Having installed a kit before and without the original gasket pieces it went fair at best. If your plans include installing new ones save the metal stapled parts you will need them.

Man, you are going to town. Good for you. I just picked up a white 71 (my first Gen 1). Off topic a bit from rust resto, but what size tires are those BFs you have? I love the way it sits and those rallys look killer. You have a 4 inch lift or so?

Thanks but going to to town is a little over the top. I work on it when time allows. I try to do something everyday even if it is as small as removing a bolt.

Craneboy, I got the kit from LMC and used the assembly manual for help. This is how they turned out.

I found seat support patches from a truck to use. The floor mounting braces look close but the mounting holes are a bit different, I need to cut the blazer floor and move the braces to the new patches.

You are getting in the fun part of the build. Once you have the mechanical in good enough shape to drive it - you can repair the cosmetic and rust as you go.

Nice work so far!

Now the front is off and I can see what I'm working with, the sway bar and these brackets are going. I plan to get a stock look with an minor lift. Anyone know if this harness for the smog pump.

Thanks

I got the windshield header today. I'm checking measurements and it looks pretty good so far and a lot better than what I have now.

Cool - new parts - will be watching you work with the header piece - needed it in the past and sold the truck before that part came out.

Some light reading for another member who used the same parts and found some challenges using them.

Not sure if the parts have changed any since that post is from 2015.

Keep us posted on your progress with the new header pieces.

I do not believe the smog pump had any electric hookup. I also believe that Morgan county is smog exempt for your truck. Am I wrong on that?

I'm not sure if you saw my thread on my experience with installing one of these but bolt up your visors to make sure everything lines up, I had to move some of the nut serts a significant amount to have the visors sit right.

Tom the blazer was smog equipped, just trying to figure out what and where the harness went. I think I have the AC harness checked out.

Thanks

69-72 I checked your thread many times before I went this route and thank you. I think this is my best way to go. I have been carefully checking measurements on my original and I put the visors supports on with bolts and holes seem to be spot on. Then again it's just 5 parts out of the box right now.

Cutting the windshield frame off is a BIG leap of faith when you first do it. But once you have it repaired you will feel great. I nearly crapped myself when I stepped back after cutting mine off. But after grafting the donor frame back on, I felt a great boost of confidence.

It went better than I was expected, I knew where the new parts were suppose to be but just a little scary to start chopping.

Finished the windshield header and the top is bolted down to start floor work. I will say it's a bit time consuming but will work great.

Slow progress but still moving along. I have the old lift out and working on a new 4" with rear blocks, the old springs are shot but found a set of rear that will replace the ones if have.

I worked with two sets of rear springs replacing broken leafs and making a good set, rear blocks and springs for the lift are set.

Awesome, looks great!!! Thanks for following along on mine, lol - I have been following along on yours as well.
Question about the Rough Country lift. Did you get extended brake lines?
I bought my lift in pieces since I wanted certain items like shocks different and what not. I got the Rough Country extended brake lines. Strangely the rear line fits loose. So... if you did get the extended lines... have you had any issues with your rear brake line not fitting in the frame bracket tight where the hard line threads in? I think I need to get an extra snap ring to fit in there somewhere to tighten it up. Let me know if you can. Thank you and have a good weekend!

PS - your metal work on the windshield header looks great! It made me cringe when you cut it out. ;)

Re: My winter project

Spf79, with the 4" lift I did not need to change any the break lines, when I get it back on the road I may need to change.
