Stuffed Olive

So in 2014 I was looking for parts for my '69.

When I get to the place there was a '72 Highlander sitting against the weeds, I inquired and then boom I had 2 projects!

Well the '69 went bye bye and the '72 got to sit in my yard instead...

FF to this past winter, I decided it was time to get the truck going. I picked up an engine that was originally in my fathers street rod when he first built it.
He had replaced it with an LS1 and sold it off to a guy, that guy put it in a dually and never finished the project.
I ran into him and asked if he still had the truck and he said yes...and he wanted to get rid of it due to a run in with the law.

The stage was set, my dad's old motor would be the perfect powerplant for my truck and I snapped it up!
I picked up a 700r4 so I could have a nice cruiser.
Lowered the suspension 2/5, replaced every part of the brake system, added a sway bar plus new tires and wheels.

I replaced the crank bearings and valve springs (1 was broken) on the motor.
brought it to the dyno and I was ready for assembly.

You guys all know how that part goes, smooth then stall then smooth again...I won't bore you with the details. I will say that EVERY bolt in this truck came out with ease and I didn't fight 1.
I believe that it wanted to be back on the road again.

It's not a show stopper, but it was a ND/MN truck it's whole life.
It drives and rides awesome and I can already tell it's going to be fun!

So after 3 years in my yard here it is...
1972 Custom/10 Highlander Edition I call Stuffed Olive

Looks clean, I like it.
What tire size? I'm guessing 275/60

Nice truck!
And the name is perfect
Does the blower setup fit well under the hood?
I've considered getting one of those, but don't want to have to cut my hood.

Yes, all 4 corners the same.
255's were just too small for my taste.

It fits perfect with the 2" air cleaner, about 1.5" of room left (enough for a Nitrous plate)

Thanks for the compliments guys!

69 MOD - Love your truck. Perfect combination of unmolested exterior with just the right amount of sleeper lurking underneath. What compression ratio are you running in order to use that blower?

I really like the look stance and stealth of your truck. Did you just use springs for the drop? The woodgrain tailgate band is a nice touch on the Custom/Deluxe.

2/3 spring drop and 2" blocks in the rear to make 5" total
Wasn't sure if I'd be sold on the level stance so I wanted to use blocks so I could pull them, in case I didn't like the look

Wow, great looking truck. Nice to meet another "local" guy. Love the "KQ" sticker on the back window.

Yeah I was just looking through my stash of old decals and there it was, I knew it had to be on there.

Maybe we'll see each other at an event.
I help put on cruise for troops if you're free tomorrow, it's at Running Aces from 9 to 5
