Oil around the exhaust ports...
2 Attachment(s)
After removing the intake/exhaust manifold, it looks like excess oil. Possible valve stem seals need replacing?

Re: Oil around the exhaust ports...
Also, are there intake and exhaust manifolds available? The surface on mine is not good, it may need to be machined.
Also, the studs are really rusted. |
Re: Oil around the exhaust ports...
Looks like the PCV valve is faulty, allowing too much oil vapor to be sent into inlet manifold....
Studs can be removed by heating the manifold flange area and using visegrips to grasp the studs...they may snap off..if they snap off, re drill the hole in the manifold. You could also send the manifold out for machining.... :chevy::chevy::chevy: |
Re: Oil around the exhaust ports...
Those ports covered in oil are intake ports...valve stem seal failure will not usually contaminate intake ports....
Those freeze plugs look like they are weeping...good time to change out all of them while you have the manifold off.... If you can find brass ones I find they last forever...the steel ones not so much :chevy::chevy::chevy: |
