Company Trucks

Well here goes my first build thread. I make no promises as I have seen many of you do an awesome job of not only building your trucks but documenting them as well. So here goes my attempt at it.
My business partner and I bought these trucks a little over a year ago with the intent of making them our new company trucks as well as promotional tools. After many hours of discussing what we wanted them to be and deciding on a direction we realized we both wanted slight differnent trucks. So one will be on a static setup while the other on air. So here is how they looked a year ago. |

Well this was the weekend to get started on the trucks. We started moving them around and getting them where they needed to go for the start of the tear down.

I brought my truck to the shop to start the tear down. All I can say is I hate rivets.

I also made a kart for the cab to roll it around on and help make it easier to do some of the body work.

Re: Company Trucks
My partner is bring his frame in tonight so I can tear it down so they will both be in the same state of disassmbly. More rivets can't wait. LOL

Re: Company Trucks
69CST-V, looks like a great start. Great looking shop with fab tools(welders, acorn table, ect). I love the idea of them being company trucks.

Re: Company Trucks
Can't wait to see what you're able to do with these, especially since they are staying in MO and back on the road. :)

Re: Company Trucks
Well I started the tear down of the second truck. I will post pictures in the morning. I think I will have nightmares of little rivets everywhere. I have developed a system that works for me now that I'm almost done.:dohh::dohh::dohh:

Re: Company Trucks
69CST-V, I shave them down close with the plasma cutter and finish grind them with a grinder. Then hit them with a punch. They are a PITA.

Ok so last night was the last of the frame tear down on #2. Now its time to get both frames off to get worked over.

Re: Company Trucks
So with the frames leaving I will start to put together a game plan on the cab's. I am very fortunate to have Classic Parts about 3 miles from my shop or LMC across town. That being said my wallet hates having them so close.;)
I will be gone till next week on business, so until then let me know what you think. |
Re: Company Trucks
what do we think !!! you do a strip tease on the frames then you leave for a week ? lol just kidding , be safe !!!
