Quadrajet Carb gettin' place

Can you recommend who/where to buy a quality rebuilt quadrajet carb for a '81 K20 350

Need to pass smog so has to be matching part number jetting, etc

Im pressed for time so, R&R, I will rebuild my old one later.

Usually some rebuilds redo the loose throttle plate shaft with bushings anyway

I have a couple old old links

Recommendations please...Thanks

Again , The carb has to have the same jetting so I can pass emissions test

location?

I have had a couple of quadrajets rebuilt here over the past 25 years with good results..

being in socal, I'm sure they can set you up right https://jetchip.com/contact/ ask for Johnnie :)

his work is published in several articles and they catalog carbs outright at summit, jegs, etc.

good luck!

Called him , he gave me a price. He seems like mostly a racing QJet guy but said can do a daily driver .

Suvile, is Your QJet from Sean on a daily driver or race?

, Im moving back to Idaho in a couple months . You like mountain home? I used to live in Sandpoint area and Emmett

Called their carb shop , they dont have a carb for that my truck and if the did he couldnt tell me if the jets and metering rods would even match .... or be able to pass a emission test

I thought that was odd.

does sound odd.. I had a 74 C20 back in the 90's they rebuilt a carb for, no smog issues.. sold that truck under protest - now smog exempt :(

everything since they've done for me are smog exempt so never discussed it with him..

there's some specific models listed on top of this list;

https://www.jegs.com/vpt/JET-Performance/Carburetor

might get real close to what you need with more detail search there or summit, etc..

although not a smog tech, or ever been one, I do supervise them at work and I'm the station manager for my larger shop.. we're captured fleet and don't have anything carb'd.. but who is telling you the jets, casting numbers, etc. are scrutinized for your inspection? BAR inspector? get flagged as gross polluter?

I've got a lot of friends in the biz here in socal.. if we knew where you were might be able to turn you on to a local shop that could of take care of you..

good luck!

Re: Quadrajet Carb gettin' place

I will most likely have to just use my original carb and take the time, have done time, and rebuild it my self

Ive done several in the past.

The jets and rods have to be the exact same size number as whats in mine to pass smog test.... I know because I had changed them Living in Idaho when I put the new motor in, and later In Ca it wouldnt pass Ca smog test . I had to do research years ago to find exactly what sizes were in my truck, find them in my Qjet parts box, and put them back in. Then it passed smog again
