For short fleet K10’s. Made a deal on this one today. Should be back to my house soon... here we go again! I probably won’t do much to it until my K20 and 3100 are a little closer to where I want them to be. I’m envisioning my wife driving this one around and my kids too when they get to that point. We shall see what life brings though. (My kids are 2 and 4 haha) it’s a plane Jane 71 Custom, V8 4 speed truck. Zero visible major rust underneath. Corners, rockers, floor supports, firewall all look real good. Doors look decent as well. The motor is missing the fan, alternator and air cleaner. The same friend has a 40,000 mile late 80s Iroc Z28 with a TPI 350 that I think I’m going to try and grab too for the TPI and and other parts like the serpentine. I believe the tpi 350s have aluminum heads so I’ll grab those too if I can make it work. I know the vettes had aluminum heads. It’s been sitting a long time so it’s gonna need all the mechanicals gone thru to get it on the road again. More pictures to come

Great score! I love K10痴!

The L98 350 TPI Camaro/Bird engines had cast heads, but still run nice. Lotsa torque. They make great truck engines.

Looks to be medium green, there are a few places on the bottoms of the rockers where the white paint was chipped away. I also noticed the hood hinges are purple haha. Not sure what痴 up with that.

Funny you say that, me and my buddy were just saying we both need an intervention. We were thinking something on the lines of C.T.A. -Chevy Trucks Anonymous!

Tim your right, I’ve known of this truck for a while, and I knew if I let it go I would have regretted it for a long time. Short K10s don’t show up often. Hell as you all know K trucks in general are getting hard to come by.

Short bed 4x4 trucks are hard to pass up when the price is right. First order of business would be to remove the #ford side mirrors

One more just cuz... sorry my phone rotated it. This truck is pretty straight for the most part. you guys are right, no remorse on my part! I’ve only seen a Couple of real short fleet K10s in my life. I’m actually more of a long bed guy but these short 4x4 trucks are far and away the exception. When the chance came to own one I couldn’t pass it up. I always thought I’d stop with the two that I’ve got or maybe round up a 71-72 K5 one day. Once I saw this truck I knew I had to jump on it. Thing is the price was very very reasonable for what this truck is. My buddy took dang good care of me.

Michael, I’m west of Farmington.
Jrainman, id jump on that baby. Looks pretty clean to me, especially for PA.

Nice find. I bought mine a few weeks ago; used to have a long bed k10 in high school so brings back memories. Is the engine the original engine? Would love to see the SPID on it. On mine I have the Protecto Plate from the original owner. If you look under the seat on the underside of the cushion you may find the factory build sheet (I did); I think they also put those on top of the gas tank. The build sheet will tell you all the options and where it was delivered--very good for provenance. In my case, Freemont plant and delivered to Gilroy CA (where my seller used to live). Anyway, CONGRATS!!!

Sounds like a pretty cool truck! The protecto plate is always an awesome find.

I doubt it’s the original engine given the long water pump setup and a few other things. I’d say mid 70s-early 80s if I had to guess. The doors were locked so I couldn’t check the spid. I plan to check for the build sheet, I believe only certain plants stashed them in the trucks. I’ve pulled a few out of trucks, however my K20 didn’t have one, its from Janesville. Once I get this truck home I’ll do a whole lot more to figure out what I’ve got. I looked it over pretty loosely the other day but honestly I wasn’t worried about it’s over all condition and options all that much because of what it is and the price we agreed on. I was looking for major rust more than anything.
