That's a b-e-a-u-ty!!! I need my sunglasses.

Mine won't hold a candle to yours, dialric, but she's a good strong daily runner, and she's clean enough to eat Thanksgiving dinner off of...Today anyway !!

It's a '68 327 4 bolt block. I had it bored to .030 over, decked, and line honed. I used a new Scat steel 350 crank and TRW forged pistons, so it ended up at 355 CI. I used a high volume oil pump, a Comp Cams RV cam, a Cloyes double row timing set, 76 CC 2.02 World Products S/R heads with Comp Cams roller tipped rockers with KoolNuts, a ProComp HEI distributor, and an Edelbrock manifold with a 600 CFM carb. The compression ended up at 9 to 1. At about 4000 miles she's broke in and running really well. I'm not sure how many horses she makes, but it's enough to put a smile on my face and move the ol' 1/2 ton down the road in style.

Well, I would say try to find a cab. I bet sence it is a big rear window you could find a cab pretty cheap. If you do decide to fix it, post a thread in the "projects and build section" Yeah, it's pretty bad, but not impossible, my truck was in pretty bad shape when I got her too! (not quite as bad as yours...but bad)

Nice Mixermike! Great body work! Are those door panels through roddoors.com? Where did you get the nice kick panel speaker enclosures?
Congrats on the truck!:metal:

It was worth it! The trailing arms are VERY important, without them you rear end wouldnt be there. $350 for a brand new set? Custom? Used?

If you have leaf springs they arenīt really important.

Imagine this: You are driving down the road just cruisin at about 45 and the left trail arm decides to snap in half or release itself from the frame.
The Axle will slip to the rear of the truck throwing you and your truck in to a spin towards the right side of the road.
Donīt try to steer in the other direction though, by the time you react you will already be in the ditch or the parked cars.

I donīt know what they cost new or used but if you think they are bad any price is right if you need to keep driving the truck.
