What year Luv to S-10?

I was just wondering what year the trucks went from the Luv designation to the S-10.

Yes, the last year for the Luv was 1981. 1982 started the S-10, even though a lot of them still used the Luv's Isuzu 1.8L engine in them.

Re: What year Luv to S-10?

I had the only 1974 Chevrolet Luv 4X4 in existence. Actually, it was a 1974 body transplanted onto a 1979 frame/drivetrain. But in Washington state, the vehicle is registered as the year it looks like. So with it being a 1974 body, it was registered as a 1974.

Was funny to see the looks people would give it if they knew anything about Luvs. They'd see the Canary Yellow Mikado with four headlamps, wing windows like a pre-1987 full size, the three color taillights under the tailgate and the funky instrument case latches on the tailgate and think 1974. Then they'd see the manual hubs on the front axle, the 29X9.50X14 Wild Country tires, 2" body lift and 1.5" suspension lift and think WTF??? Especially if I popped the twin moon roofs and opened the secondaries on the Weber and dumped it all into the twin pipes.... :evil grin:
