Re: Check this Suburban out

Re: Check this Suburban out
pretty cool years back one of my "dream " vehicles was a 89 sub with a full removable top like the 73-74 blazer.
|
Re: Check this Suburban out
wow a lot of work, would like to see it all done in paint

Re: Check this Suburban out
my cheap and easy idea was to weld/bolt in a bar that would go from side to side right under the top of the front seat back.
the right way would be to triangulate a brace off the b pillar to the floor, and the attach another body mount to the frame in that spot. suiciding the rear doors would also take some pressure off the area-and would look cool too! |
Re: Check this Suburban out
That is the coolest modification you can do to these burbs, lifted and topless, love it!

Same basic principle as the Scout's. Everything from the windshield frame was removable, and you could swap the "full" tops with the "truck" tops. This particular one is a Scout, but Travelers were the same thing only with a longer wheel base.
|
Re: Check this Suburban out
always like the scouts, but the travelall is ugly IMO and never seen one with a removable roof, but they don't match well with a suburban, the scout however is a good base for a wheelin truck
|
Re: Check this Suburban out
I love Scouts. I have 3. The Travelall was the "suburban" for International, it never came with a removable top. I was thinking you could get a hold of a fiberglass "full" top from a Traveler and modify it though.
|
Re: Check this Suburban out
any pics of the scouts? my grandpa had a yellow travelall with the wood panel and all in the 70's, international really only made the scout for nice vehicles, helped a friend build one with a 440 6 pack and locked up dana 44's about 10 years ago, wish I woulda kept more pics of old trucks and projects
