Some progress yesterday. We dropped the 6.0 ls engine in the frame and bolted it up using BRP motor mounts. Nice fit and it looks right at home.

We installed the QA1 Rear Sway Bar and trick adjusters today. This is a nice set up and should help the old C10 handle great.

Looks great Pop. Once we get the weight on it we can center everything up and torque it down. It should really help it in the corners ! :burnout:

We have the 4L80e transmission ready to install. Before we bolt it up we are replacing the rear main seal and cover gasket just for a little peace of mind. Much easier to do now than after everything is buttoned up.

Doug's Headers should be here the first of the week.

Nothing like an awesome set of Doug's 1-7/8" Full Length Headers bolted to those Gibbons Motorsports Heads. That 6.0 will like all that extra air flow.

We worked on the rear of the engine yesterday and installed a new performance billet "barbell", new rear main seal and cover and GM Performance Flex Plate.
Chad added a quart of transmission fluid to the CircleD Performance Torque Convertor and we slipped it in place. This convertor was special ordered to give the stall we needed with the modifications that have been done.
The 4L80e is bolted up and we mocked up the location of the BRP Hot Rods transmission crossmember. We are going to set the engine angle before we bolt the crossmember in place.
It's starting to come together!

The braided stainless steel fuel lines and AN fittings arrived today. We will be working on the lines to connect with the Boyd Welding gas tank. The AN fittings work great and look really clean too. One more thing to cross off our list.

We are putting together our own system using Russell Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Hose and assorted -6 AN fittings. An Earl's -6 ORB (O-Ring) fitting was used on the tank outlet. When everything is plumbed we will add some pictures and list some part numbers.

Thanks, and stay tuned!

It has been a while since we have posted. Time to get back on track and get this old girl finished up.

We installed an Aeromotive Fuel Filter with return line to the frame and finished up the braided hoses. Russell brackets secure the hoses up to the frame, Once the cab is painted and put back on the frame we are going to plumb in an Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator to complete the package.

Stay tuned...

Thanks for the nice compliments guys,

We bolted the powder coated core support on the frame today. Now it's beginning to look more like a truck. It's kinda staring out of the garage.

It's been awhile since we have been on here. Life sometimes dictates your priorities.

We installed new MSD Coils on the engine and checked the fit of the spark plug wires. We were a little concerned that they might be too short, but no problem. The length is spot on.

A new FrostBite Aluminum Radiator/Fan Assembly arrived today. Nice setup! We will be installing it soon. I will add some pictures when we get it in.

Looks great Pop! Im glad we went with the black valve covers.

Maybe we can drop the radiator in this weekend. We'll see how the week goes I guess.

More progress this week...

We installed a Frostbite Aluminum Radiator that comes complete with Cooling Fans. These are made specifically to fit the '67-72 trucks and fit really nice. We are still looking for some trick upper brackets that work. We tried new 4-row upper brackets, but they don't fit very well.

We worked on the Radiator Hoses to get the best fit possible. For the lower hose we used a Gates 22437. We had to trim the end that slips over the radiator outlet as shown in the photo. I can get a measurement if that helps anyone. It looks factory on there.

For the Upper Hose my buddy at O'Reileys let me take my wire template behind the counter and look through all of his hoses. The closest hose that I could find is a Gates 22047 which is for a '94'97 Ranger 4 Cylinder upper hose. At the radiator inlet you have to twist the hose just slightly to get the right angle. We had to cut about 1" off of the end going to the water pump. It might need to be cut a little more but we want to wait until the final radiator brackets are on.

Just a little at a time...
