Philly the `64 C-10

Well first off I am going to be jumping ship soon from the 73-87 board once I get my 84 C-10 running driving here shortly. My wife has been wanting a truck of her own so I picked up this 1964 Chevy C-10 short bed.
Interesting story behind it. (Cliff notes) The guy who owned this truck years ago worked for her father in his furniture store. When her father was going through cancer he was always there for her and the family. One of the greatest guys there was according to everyone. He loved this truck and really cared for my wife when she was younger. Sadly he passed several years ago due to cancer and this truck was forgotten. I now help run the business and I heard about this old 64 sitting a town over and I went to check it out. Turns out it was his old truck! Been there since he passed. I thought this would be the perfect truck. I traded a beat up 2001 chevy venture mini van and hauled the truck home! There is a lot to do to the truck I can already tell but I have tackled worse. His name was Phillip so she named the truck Philly in honor of him. This will be a real slow build and we are not sure of the true direction just yet. Its just going to be a decent driver not a show truck but the basic plan is as follows. We plan to keep and re-use as much a spossible Replace the bed with a stepside fix all the major rot issues (rocker panels and such) take it down to the frame and replace and freshen as needed switch to an auto transmission power steering power brakes with disc on front A/C |

Here are some more pictures showing some of the damage. When I get started on taking it apart I will take plenty more.

Re: Philly the `64 C-10
Thanks! Yeah I know its going to take a few cans of elbow grease and spit shine but I think there is something good hiding under their.

Re: Philly the `64 C-10
Trust me I know all about the elbow grease. Spent nearly a week just pressure washing and cleaning and washing and scrubbing just to get down to the first layer of steel.. LOL All worth it though at the end of the day.
