Spent most of yesterday replacing the spider injector in my wife's 97 GMC, and trying to figure out why my odometer and tripometer aren't working in my dodge. Had it all a part, not able to figure that one out yet. Glad I got some time on the panel though!

Gave the steering wheel a couple of coats of paint and clear coat after a good wet sanding. Happy how it turned out.

Started to mock up the gauge cluster. Here is what I have been thinking. Going to add some wood for the shroud. More to come as it progresses...

Re: 1963 GMC C30 panel truck
Got down to the shop this past weekend. Started to remove a few more parts. Pulled the steering column, master cylinder and a bunch of the wiring. Looking to pull the engine in a couple of weeks. My brother in law wants it to replace the 305 in his 77 Monte Carlo, should just slam in

Started working on the barn doors. I want to get the back end all back together. Had to weld on a few new nuts for the bottom latch for the drivers side door. Had to touch up a few broken spot welds and cracks. Just need to patch one bad spot and it will be ready for some POR 15.

Found some beauty black walnut for the gauge cluster backing. Picked up some 1/16 lexan to go behind the walnut. Just kind of making it up as I go along. Will get what I got together then will figure out how to mount the gauges and seal it all up.

I want to put the drivers side barn door back together, then I will be moving onto the passengers side. will be back onto the wife's 97 GMC tomorrow, have to replace the fuel pump, distributor and wires.

Did some reassembly on the drivers side barn door. Moving forward. Will still have some sheet metal work to do on the body before I can bolt up the rear crossmember.

Has anyone replaced the hinge adjuster plates for the barn doors on a suburban or panel? If so how do you go about it? Looking to do mine this weekend, the bottom ones are fairly rusted out and some fresh plate would be ideal. I was thinks of cutting a slot on the inside of the cab and extracting the plate, putting the new on in and welding the sheet on behind it. Ideas picture would be great.

Found out the C30 panel frame is a different width then suburban frame. Wider by 4" for each side. I will be reversing the frame extensions and shimming them up to fit the bumper brackets and crossmember and sil plate. Has any one faced this. Any other ideas out there?

Re: 1963 GMC C30 panel truck
I'm thinking that you have a rear bumper and brackets for a '60-'62? The '60-'62's have a wider frame in the rear. The '63 and up frames should be 34" wide.
