ISO: big back window conversion

I'm looking for one of Scott's big back window kits. I haven't been able to get in touch with him to order one. So, I was just looking to see if maybe someone had an unused one sitting around. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I have a BBW cab I can cut one out of, but I'm really looking for someone that might have one of Scott's kits that they haven't used yet.

I was in-line for one of the kits (I did get Scott on the telephone about a year ago, he said he had a 2 to 3 year waiting list). Since then, I have scored a BBW cab and removed the inside panel. I am happy :) It wasn't that bad removing the panel, just tedious, lots of spot welds to drill out.

Thanks for the awesome info, that really helps. I was thinking that the panel from my cab might be a better choice after reading a write up about it. I actually think I could do it too. I'd be tempted if somebody had a kit though.

I did a big back window conversion on my 65 the hardest part was the upper seem I used the panel adhesive/epoxy because you cannot get to it to weld it I think it makes a much cleaner looking install and from what I have seen easier than the Kit that I saw which would take a lot of bodywork

Re: ISO: big back window conversion

When you take your BBW section out on the opposite side of the BBW section grind or use a spot weld cutter. When I do them I take my grinder and grind each spot weld and pop the lose. Yes it takes some time but when you get your BBW section out you will see all the factory spot welds. Before you put the section in drill two holes on the inside of the dome light on each side. You can not get a drill on the inside of the dome light so mark your two holes when you dry fit your panel take it back out and drill the two holes. When you put it back in get you some self tapping screws and put them in the two holes and that will pull the top together. Some times it will take three the four times taking the panel out before it fits good. Once you got your panel fitting good take you some self tapping screws around six and screw your panel in this will get you panel located. Take it back out when you put it in for the last take some masking tape and tape off the BBW section and around the section for the glue does not get on you panel. I will only use 3M panel glue 08115 If anyone needs some help pm me and I will help you out plus you will need a lot of clamps to hold it together

If you want to do it the right way take the roof skin off and clamp it together LOL

If your willing to drive to Montana (maybe 14-17 hrs from nv?) I looked at a 66 big window cab today from Craigslist for 100 bucks . I just want the doors and some misc crap. I'll give you 50 for the doors. So you get the cab and front clip too but he wants the bed for a trailor. he said hed drive it to my house so i could pull the cab and hed cut the back off and drag it home. So really you get a running big window 66 less the bed for 100 bucms!? Whats wrong with this guy?If you want I'll send you pics tomorrow.
