Nice build! Question. What Corvette did those exhaust manifolds come off of?

Well you are right they came from a Corvette!

This is the third set of exhaust we tried and they fit ( made the passenger side fit) I just remember that the guy told me they were from a Corvette.
The next time I see him I will ask him

Thanks but I don't come up with anything with those numbers. Hopefully your buddy remembers what year Vette they came from.

Stopped by the "JAIL" to see what progress had been made and still no color!
He was in the last prime and block so maybe I will see a coat of sealer on these pieces on the next trip.......... not expecting to see color!!

There was a storm brewing this afternoon so not many folks showed up at the hamburger stand tonight, will stop by next week and see if he is there.

You Bet!!
I should have some pics tomorrow

Sid the exhaust manifolds were off a 2000 Corvette that we have on the 46

Re: Arizona Steel 46

Thanks axel! Have any more pictures of those manifolds? I've been looking at pictures of 2000 Vette manifolds and yours seem different than those I've seen on google images. I think if I get the exact same ones you have, they will work perfect for me.

Cheers!

I will see if I have any close pics of the Pass and drivers side

Well 80% of the sheet metal is "Blue"
I can't say I am totally happy with the results !
All I can see is a whole lot of color sanding, and the painter brought it up so I don't have to ask him if he is going to cut and buff everything

Sid, here are a couple pics, let me know if you need a different view

Re: Arizona Steel 46

Paint looks awesome! Looks darker when looking from different angles. Just not happy about having to colour sand?

Those manifolds look like sheet metal or fabricated as opposed to cast. Man they tuck in nice and close to the block. Did they not have any heat shields?

I don't want to take over your build thread with these manifold questions but I really would like to figure out exactly what they are.

Have a god holiday!

Re: Arizona Steel 46

Well at least I can look at the engine while I have it here at home, so ask away!
I will be delivering the rolling chassie to the painter next week so HE can do the assembly!
We gave the truck to him all mocked up and I told him I wanted it back just like this ONLY blue!
With the speed of light he works at I do not expect to see it back here for at least 60 days so I can finish the wiring and drive ability issues and off to Upholstery Jail!
How is everything in the K-W area of Ontario?

FarmerSid 07-04-2015 07:56 AM

Re: Arizona Steel 46

And a beautiful clean engine and chassis. By K-W area do you mean Kitchener Waterloo? That's about 3-4 hrs west of me. Weather has been starting to get warmer with more sun.

Those manifolds look like sheet metal or fabricated as opposed to cast. Man they tuck in nice and close to the block. Did they not have any heat shields or is that the way they came on the Vette? I've spent hrs looking for those manifolds and come up empty.

If you had anymore insight on them, i'd appreciate it.

Have a great 4th of July!
