Re: My 42 Project

Interiors were all a sort of champagne goldish. I don't know the name but on mine I've debated just buying a modern car similar exterior color in Duplicolor spray. Problem is that even though that is stock I don't really like it much. Maybe a bit more silver-ish?

My running gear is 350/350 with Jag IFS & IRS. Are you gong with black running board & fenders like stock or the same green?

Re: My 42 Project

i found a section of original paint on some cab metal and TCP matched it. It looks great. Fenders and running boards will be black. I have painted on side. I need a dash pick for location of all the different controls. choke throttle etc

I can't wait to see how this turns out. See,you're not the only one...ha ha. That color has been a constant throughout the years. It's still available in the fleet program. They call it Woodland Green or just Dark Green. Jim Carter in Independence,MO knows all the early color info.Maybe it's even on his website.Try Googling him up.

Re: My 42 Project

Thanks,
Not much work going on this project. Trying to find parts. Transmission is the big one. The motor is a 1959 235, and what would be cool is an automatic with a locar shifter. Not finding any way to adapt it other then making an adapter plate. I heard you can use a powerglide but those are real costly. If I stumble into an original 4 speed and pedal assembly Ill go for that as I would rather build all original. I know the motor is not original but the original was long gone and this one came with the truck. So might as well use it.
:mm:

Have not been working on this lately. Been workin on other projects. I have a friend that maybe getting rid of a napco running gear. Might go that way with the truck. To many projects trying to sort out which way to go on each.

amazing how time flies. I have gotten the seat reupholstered and my glass is ordered should see it next week. I picked up a near perfect windshield frame on ebay last week and weather striping. picked up some handle droop springs. they helped a little but they still hang down.

Thanks, the body wasnt very straight and it took a long time to get it right. It amazes me how much time passes working on truck projects

thanks, having a project to work on with your kids is great. My son and I worked on his 67 ElCamino last year. It was lots of fun making him do all the greasey work
