the greatness of this board

A few days ago I had asked if there was a member anywhere near Wenatchee WA that could help me out. I had purchased a large item ( front grille for a 51 International that the seller refused to ship.
Within 10 minutes of my post a fellow , Blake (Mysons68C20) responded and volunteered to help. Blake went out of his way to crate and ship the item to me ( which is a pretty hefty item) and wanted to do it for free. He even shipped it without being paid for the freight to me in NJ , which is also a pretty hefty bunch of cash.
I cannot thank Blake enough for his kindness and the effort it took to help me out. The comradery of the car/truck community is amazing and some of the best and nicest people are here on this board. Thank you !!

This is the thread I needed. Why? To give a personal shout out to Boog. He and I connected on here as we are only about 20 minutes apart. His generosity was proven to me last year when he brought me some very nice “leftovers” from his project. A complete heater assembly that I hope between it and mine I can make a nice, functional unit. Also a vet nice auto steering column. Along with the TH400 I got that is two big pieces of the manual to auto puzzle.

I did give him a paltry item to assuage my guilt but he’s a heck of a guy.

I’ve been very happy to be a member here for the short time I’ve been here. So many of my questions answers and motivation as well.

Well hey there neighbor. Thanks. The pleasure was mine Bill. I'm glad to meet someone else in the county that still works on these old trucks.

Some of my best friends are from this board. One of them, Vic1947, Helped my dying keister just this morning by TIG'ing the ball flange back on my stainless header. A nicer, more talented man you will not meet. Wouldn't even let me buy him lunch. (Go right now to Alternate Tinkerings and look at his '57. Holy Crap! You oughta see it in person.) The big show in the fall here in KC has turned into a family reunion of board members, and I look hugely forward to it every year.
