thanks guys. it has been a ton of fun building and learning from this truck. always good to get some feedback on it.



Well, after getting back from the camping trip, it has sat untouched in my garage. Not because i'm tired of it, but because i've been sick all week with a damn cold. That, and part of getting the budget to build it was that i would quit smoking after the camping trip. Well, I had a half pack on sunday, and am down to about 4 left... This cold will probably help me quit actually.

but anyways, yeah, it'll sit for a bit as I have a ton of house jobs to do. need to get a shed painted, shelves made, garage cleaned, house cleaned, find a crew to paint the house, etc... Also have some yard work that needs done.

I have some pics from the camping event, but haven't a clue where the camera went. I'm sure i'll find it soon enough and get some good pics up. I have to say, i saw it while Matt was driving on the interstate (i was in the '69) and it looked real badass rolling down the road in it's black wheels and baby moons :)

oh, btw, i got caught up on watching Gearz today... i now have a couple of new ideas for the bed floor of this truck :)

heh, well the seat is actually nice. I got it from Leon out of a '48 is friend redid.

but the rest of the interior is rusty metal. I have decided that the next "phase" for this truck is to get a nice interior going. Get all the wires and air lines cleaned up, get some dynomat down, carpet, door panels, etc.

Now that the big stuff is done, i plan to take it a bit slower with the remaining items.

I'm very impressed with how fast it came around. The truck turned out great, and I can't wait til Sept to see it in person.

Holy crap Ivel, love your truck, I cant believe I missed this thread. Just finished going over the whole thread from the start. Talk about a thrash! Bet you enjoyed every minute of it tho.. You taking it to the Goodguys show in Des Moines over July 4th? We plan on heading that way & would love to check it out in person.

yep, it'll be at the goodguys show along with the '69. I'm planning to get there at the butt crack of dawn and getting the same spot i was at last year. figure if any other 67-72 guys wanted to park there, there'll be plenty of room. Look for me in front of the Pioneer Livestock Pavilion.

I should have some time between now and then to get some stuff cleaned up. The wires and air lines everywhere drive me nuts.

You did this truck damn perfect, mainly because I'm a sucker for black steel wheels with chrome centers...

thanks guys. I've taken a 2 week break from working on it after getting back from the camping trip. But i think next weekend is going to be a good weekend to get back to work and start taking care of the small stuff that needs done. It's not quite as reliable as i'd like it to be yet, but it's not far off. A good weekend of cleaning up wires, mounting the bed better and fixing the lights and it'll be good to go.

And texasidiot25, be careful with what you say. I may just show up at your door with keys in hand :)

Almost! But, big block power and a killer suspension are intriguing.

But I've got a breath of fresh air with $ and a line on a donor truck... So you'd have to drive pretty fast :lol:
