Negative Battery Cable
 
Does anyone have a picture of the negative battery cable and how it connects in your V-8? I have been told that the cable from my inline 6 might not do with my new V-8 motor. I was told that it needs to be connected to the block and the frame in the V-8. Thanks for your help.

On my mighty 307 (mighty tired that is) the negative cable goes from the battery directly to the front of the passenger side of the engine block.

can connect anywhere you want it to, it really doesnt matter, on the long water pump engines it connects to upper alternator bracket in most cases, and see them connected on the older engines down near the fuel pump alot,
but not in the 84 maro, and other newer vehicles sometimes, it connects to the front of pass side head, i moves it to driver side when I replaced it because it was longer, i didnt want to shorten it hehe,

you can bolt it to wherever you want really, make surew where you mounbt it is dirt rust and grease free though ! wd40 is good to spray wherever to prevent corrosion, same for all electrical plugs and connections etc etc

On my parts truck the neg. cable goes right to a bolt on the passenger side of the engine block.

On my daily driver they put in a later model 350, so they replaced all the brackets for the accessories. Therefore, they ended up tying it to one of the accessory bolds that connect to the block (I think the alternator).

Basically, its the same connection.
