Helped drag this one to new home today

A friend of mine has been on the hunt for a 67-72 K truck for a bit now. He found one not to far away from town and we went and picked it up today. Mostly original 70 K2500. Still has the original paint with dealer plaque on the cowl cover and painted dealer mark on the tail gate. It’s been sitting for a while but all 4 wheels moved free. I should have taken more pictures but I was busy using my service truck to replace a missing wheel, and air up the other three. It’s a 350/4speed. Still has the original 70 np205 and shifter and the open drum front axle. It’s got the lower body Rust in the normal places. Originally it came from Wyoming. The Frame looks immaculate. Will need an engine for sure as the original overheated and seized. I’ll post pictures as he works on it. Plan is to get it running and enjoy it while fixing the things like rust. Patina is staying.

Re: Helped drag this one to new home today
Thanks guys, yea my buddy is really excited over it. I’ve got one last Vortec 350 with a 4bbl manifold that I’m probably gonna let go for his project. He’s planning on getting it running and driving first so He can stay motivated on it. Sounds like a good plan to me. I’ll update on it as I can.

Well here’s an update:
Today we worked on it most of the day buttoning up an engine swap he did and getting everything ready to fire. I sold him another 350 I had from a square body back in November. Today we fired it up for the first time under his ownership and made a couple victory laps in the back lot behind the shop. Hell the brakes even worked, the test drive was these uneventful:lol: it Still has a ways to go, needs a carb rebuild and exhaust for starters but everything worked out great. Today we converted to an internally regulated 10SI, amongst a lot of other things. I’ll update some more in the coming weeks. I really like it. Definitely a cool truck. Here’s some action shots. I drove mine to the shop this morning so he could have some more inspiration. |

Tell your friend I love the color of his new truck. Of course I'm a bit biased...

Re: Helped drag this one to new home today
Nice, I'm glad he has made victory laps. He should be excited now!

Re: Helped drag this one to new home today
Keep it together, repair and fix as you go. Excellent to see another four eyed truck getting put back on the road.

Re: Helped drag this one to new home today
His plan is to keep it mostly as is but just work on the smaller things it needs a little at a time. I’m going to go thru the quadrajet soon then it’s going to go off for a new exhaust. After that we’ll see what else needs done. He did mention maybe getting a flat bed for it while keeping the original bed set aside so it can be returned to original.
