Did the sidemarker fuel door. Took some southern engineering, but it works! and built a little box that bolts inside the bed to cover it up. Now... we'll see just how tight it is when i try and fill 'er up!

Aftermarket tach and mid 80s clock in the dash.
Transmission temperature gauge and aux. fuel tank gauge. The middle button is for my back up lights - which overrides the surge brakes on my trailer.
Just to the left of my knee-knocker tranny and aux fuel gauges is my aftermarket cruise control. I don't have a good picture of that on this computer.
Oh that non-AC temperature control was swapped out a couple of years ago. I have all the firewall mods done for AC. All I need to do is cut a few holes in my dash, hook up a compressor, suck the air out, and charge the system.

4wd, tach, built-in clock, tranny temp, cruise control, AC. What is that in today's new market with a standard cab and 8-foot box? $20k? $25k? I'm sure liking my payments of $0 month and 0% interest.

Here is my interior with a converted van tilt, Autometer Phantom Gauges, seats from a 98 or 99 Silverado and door panels that I made to match the seats.

Also have a custom gas tank built by fuelcellguy on the flatbed. Filled in the stock gas filler hole on the cab.

Since I didn't want to distract from the restored look of my interior, I had a custom panel built to mount my air ride controls. The sitches are monuted in this cool stalk that fits flush against seat. The digital gauge is hidden in the ashtray...:)

You can buy a gas cap that doesn't have to be removed. It has a hole to put the fuel nozzle in and it's spring loaded so gas won't leak out.

May not work for your cali pumps?

Here's a pic and I got it from this thread:

Pics will follow later, but I'm in the process of doing the following to my 69 right now:

Swivel reclining bucket seats
Aftermarket A/C
Custom Stereo (250 watt Amp, 12" subs where fuel Tank was because it's going out back).
Custom Center Console with B&M shifter
MP3 player in dash
18 Ckt [almost] Painless fuse panel.
Elect Windows and Door Locks
Cargo/3rd brake light combo install.

Here's a picture of the gage cluster with air/fuel ratio gage added.

YukonJack - GREAT interior. Door panels are some of the best I have seen when not using stock style upholstry.

No pictures but my 2 "custom" mods are 68 Olds park lights (they match the 67/68 grill hoops with anodized aluminum bezels and clear lens and the 2nd mod is the 65 Chev heater control which looks just like the AC unit without the blower switch.;)

I saw these on a 07' Buick Lacerne, and ordered some from GM, and after MUCH MUCH deliberation decided they should be installed. One of a kind for sure. Plans are to indeed make them useable, after all I have already cut the fenders to get them on. Those are my winter white spokes, the bling wheels are in their jammies.

So far N2TRUX takes the cake with that trick setup! Nothing in my yard is that far off the chain. I tucked my stereo in the glovebox of both trucks and added a Camaro tach to the dash as well. Pretty typical fare I guess.

All I have done is make a mount for speakers to fit under my bench, as I don't want to cut up my doors or kickpanels. It's decent but nothing worth showing off. Some really nice ideas here though.

well so far ive mounted my tach in the old shifter position got flames on my cowl hood was going to mount my ignition like that but decided to mount it on the dash right above the E-brake handle the door panel is where I covered it with tweed I also made a dash cover in tweed as well and the little bolts go in the holes where a licence plate would go on my truck i just turned em down in the drill press

New seat ,carpet and stereo. It has 3 1/2 in the ac vents{got the idea here]
6 1/2 in the doors and 2 10 in kickers under the seat with a kicker amp.Had to build my own boxes to do this. They are not pretty but they sound good.
It has blue led lights in the vent spks.and 2 blue led lights under the seat. Just need to hide a few more wires.

Not super elaborate, but here are a few of mine.

Dash - Stock speedo, Gas gauage from a LaSabre, Tach, and VDO Guages across the bottom. I need to finish the paint on the bezel

Filled in all the holes I don't need on the firewall. Eventually It'll have aftermarket AC/heat. Also used serpentine belt setup from 94 C1500.

Stock filler neck filled in and tank relocated to rear.

Using an 88-98 style filler door for the stock 72 Blazer tank.

I figure it will look a whole lt better once paint is on and everything is put back together. ;)

Thanks Lo - I was thinking about doing just that. When I mocked them up, I was running my 18's and bags were flat, it looked killer with the hood up or down. These inputs help, thanks for the photo-shop. Don't want to it to look like a toy or anything.

This may not amount to much in the way of mods, but it will get comments and is easy and relatively cheap. I have a small stash of stainless steel bolts, washers, nuts etc. in the shop, and any time I take out a highly visible bolt like in the eng compartment, I put back a polished SS piece.

This polishing can be done in an electric drill mounted in a vise, but a drill press is easier. Just chuck up the bolt, use a file to cut the logo/markings on the head, then go to a course grit sand paper, med., fine, then use your favorite metal polish for the mirror finish.

The only caveat here is, if you're using a SS nut on a SS bolt, you must use never-sieze or the threads are likely to gall.

Paaw, the trans is a TH350 that was rebuilt 1000 miles before I bought it. It has a stage 2 shift kit in it, and the stock stall converter.

Slomotion, I did the same thing with all my hardware, and in my opinion it is a very worthwhile mod.
