I always try and ship by the next day, and USPS Priority Mail is pretty fast.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I have to say, if anyone is on the fence, jump on over. John is fantastic. We had a screwup, due to my lack of communication on what year truck I'm building. He had new brackets out to me in less than 72 hours. Even though it was clearly my fault, John being the great guy he is assumed some of the blame and we worked out getting the wrong brackets back and getting powdered ones (originally purchased bare) to me (again VERY quickly) since I had shot my last round of epoxy already. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, short of being clear and getting the right stuff out the first time.

I haven't yet mounted them up, but they look great. I'll post pics, and will have a separate writeup on everything for folks interested.

It took a bit of work and help from other members to get all the right stuff in play to get the total solution in my shop. For I believe a bit under $400 I got everything including plates, hydro unit, fancy-schmancy stainless lines and fittings etc. Will send the link to John once writeup is done for sharing with others as he sees best fit.

Thanks for the compliment :)

That looks good. From what I read in your build thread, this hydroboost/master cylinder came from the 2004 2500 Silverado?

They hydroboost/mc did come from a 2004 Silverado 2500. Everything fit well and with the hood latched, there's roughly 1/4"-1/2" of clearance from the top of the MC to the bottom of the hood. Great product. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to do the swap.

This is coming up soon for my 68 C20. Will be looking soon to order some brackets. Going to the yard today to look for hydroboost unit and hoses. And an S10 speedo for that mod. Nice product for us. Thanks. Jim

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Are you going to want a bare steel booster bracket and hydroboost plate, or the satin black version? Let me know when you're ready.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Don't know. But thanks for asking so quick. Went and looked at 1 yard in the rain yesterday. None on sight but possibly getting F250 Diesel in on Monday. Gotta check back then. Just to clarify, I'm using a lokar column shift cable bracket in my engine bay. It clears my standard power booster on my C20. Would this bracket still clear the Lokar adapter. Any experience with this before? I'll go back and look at your picks in the post and also look at your measurements of your bracket and see myself also. Thanks again. Jim

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I have no experience with the Lokar column shift cable, just with stock shift linkage. The interference issue with the factory column shift linkage is not with the mounting bracket, but with the vacuum booster. Since you are going with the hydroboost, there should not be an issue with any interference. Then again this is based on the factory shift linkage.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

What does it cost total for the Hydroboost plate and bracket in the powder coated black including shipping etc? I have a 97 Astro hydro boost going in a 71 C10.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

The total cost on those parts with shipping will be $99.65. Let me know.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Just to be clear can I use the hydroboost with the factory reservoir and the disc disc proportioning valve i got from CPP?

Captainfab 05-22-2013 10:05 PM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Yes you can.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Sorry maybe I'm confusing myself but I mean the reservoir that came with the hydro boost (GM plastic one) and then the disc/disc proportioning valve I'm currently using with the original setup.

Captainfab 05-22-2013 11:06 PM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Since you're running 4 wheel discs, I would use the correct disc/disc master cylinder with the Astro hydroboost.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I want the plastic one for it. Any suggestions on what one to look for?

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I guess what size bore I need to match. Ay suggestions would be appreciated.

Would a trailblazer ss disc disc work? here is a link

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

as an alternative maybe the 05 GTO disc / disc with a 1.125 bore
link
http://www.ebay.com/itm/360638765329...84.m1438.l2649

Opinions on this type?

Captainfab 05-23-2013 11:08 PM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I really don't have much experience with those aluminum and plastic masters. That one for the GTO will definitely not work. The Trailblazer one might. I think I would lean towards one for a '96-'99 truck with 4 wheel discs. Of course selecting a master cylinder will depend on just what calipers you are running.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I'm running the CPP brake kit which is Escalade fronts and crown vic rears I think. I guess I should look for and ecalade / tahoe disc disc master. If any one has advice or suggestions I'm all ears.
