Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Now I have found a 08 and a 2012 Master cylinder from a Silverado HD running 4 wheel disc brakes. would that work and two i would still need to run my CPP porportioning valve as well right? Here is my issue I just want to confirm that I'm understanding this correctly and that it will bolt to the master cylinder. The 2012 is a hydroboost set up as well. Anyways any help would be appreciated/

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

I do not know if either of those masters will bolt up to your '97 Astro hydroboost. As I said earlier, I do not have much experience with the newer masters as what you are looking for. Some of the newer masters bolt up differently. If you want to go with a master cylinder as new as one of those, I would suggest purchasing the master and hydroboost as a unit. If your CPP proportioning valve is for a disc/disc system, then yes you should run that one.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Yes, that will work. Once you remove the factory mounting plate, the hydroboost units themselves are all the same. That master cylinder might be a little large if you are going to run it on a C10. I would just bolt on an appropriate C10 master cylinder.

I might be doing some business soon. Once I get my donor brake parts I will be in touch as soon as I figure things out. The donor is a 83 P30 hydro boost for my 68 C30.

I can set you up Alan. Just let me know when you're ready.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Got my Brake booster adapter bracket and Hydroboost mounting plate yesterday. Ordered Sunday, on my doorstep early Wednesday, that's fast.
They're all painted up and ready to mount today, if I can brave the cold. Extremely nice qualtiy, and the best customer service of any transactions I have ever done. Cannot recommend your stuff highly enough.
Maybe you should start having it stamped or engraved like Porterbuilt does. Just a thought. I'd have Captainfab stuff on my PS adapter, 14 bolt saddles, and brake booster mounts. Thanks again.

Got it all mounted, pushrod shortened and welded up, brake lines connected. Next is to run the pressure and return lines, but it was too cold to continue, so I called it a day. Sorry for the blurry cell phone pic. Your bracket and HB mounting plate sure did make this a whole lot easier. Thanks again.

So to clarify I need a booster braket for 67-72, and a hydroboost adaptor?

Captainfab 12-18-2014 01:49 AM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

If you are working on a '67-'72, then yes you will need either booster bracket that I make for the '67-'72's and this hydroboost mounting plate. Then everything will bolt up without drilling any more holes in your firewall.

Good Morning
A little feedback, it sits on a 64 Sub 4x4.

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

Due to it being a PITA to get the socket back and the fact that the last guy refuses to return it, I have changed how I 'rent' the hydroboost nut socket. Basically what I am doing now is you will have to purchase the socket for $52.50 plus shipping and if you wish to return it to me after you are done I will refund $26.25 to you. Sorry to be that way, but I have lost too much time and money with the way I was doing it before.

1972 blazer 2 wheel drive, what brackets do I need to go Hydro boost? running 5.3 engine out of 2003 tahoe

Captainfab 03-24-2015 11:16 PM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

You will need a '67-'72 booster bracket in addition to the hydroboost mounting plate. Do you need the standard booster bracket or the one with the hydraulic clutch conversion? And in bare steel or satin black powder coat?

also, will the power steering pump from 5.3 2003 Tahoe work? do not think it had hydro boost brakes.

Captainfab 03-25-2015 11:43 PM

Re: Hydroboost Mounting Plates

With a hydroboost I recommend using a power steering pump with 2 return line ports as is used with the factory hydroboost system. Not being familiar with your particular power steering pump, I do not know if another return port can be added to that pump reservoir or not.
