what did you grease monkeys get done this weekend

I finshed the body work on the fire wall and spit some epoxy primer on it. Here are a few pics of the project.
Thanks to the body pros... sevt_chevelle, MARTINSR and others for the help with fillers and paints.

I removed my tool box door, and took it back to the painter so he repair a couple bubbles in his paint.

Much hacking on the rear suspension. I've got an extra 3" of clearance for the axle and another 3" of drop on the bags. Pretty soon, I should have this thing fairly low ;)

edit: added pic (if anyone is looking for an excellent photographer for weddings, birthdays, etc., you can tell from this gem that I'm your man! )

Had to work on my carb on the '70 Burb. The Eddlebrock still is not running up to par. But I will get it right.

I worked a s@@tload of OT for money to get the Camaro painted, then hauled a load of lumber in the 70 for new railings for the front porch. I got 2 posts set and then it started raining. Fortunatley the wood is salt treated, so it will sit in the truck until tomorrow nite, when it's supposed to be nice weather.

Jamis,

You know you shaved the speedo cable and throttle cable hole right ?

Well,
I went to my G-Friends grad. 6 hour drive to the school it was most of the weekend. She is now a Vet Tech got 2 of the 4 awards handed out too. Pretty good weekend. Good break fromm the truck.

I managed to get the holly 600 rebuilt so I can get rid of the 1406 on my 84 DD.

And I just broke the faring die for the 3/16 lines I had to flare. Next weekend I will get lots done though.

Grinding! and some more adjusting. It's been one hell of a week at work so i decided to spend my time in the threaters. if anyone is thinking of seeing the movie CRASH. It's real good.

Went to pick up a 2-ton Big Red engine hoist from someone 15 miles away for 100 bucks. Only used once. Truck broke down (overheat?) on the way back. Had to sit on it for a few minutes to make the last mile. First time I've gotten the truck out in a month or so.

phanatic32212 05-15-2005 09:39 PM

I got most of my Autometer guages put in and wired. I used the 2 5/8 in for the bottom. I still have to get the speedo and tach. Gonna go with the elec. speedo so I'll have to save a few more bucks for that. I also made my 100th post.

Completed wiring for tuned port setup, installed power steering pump pulley, harmonic balancer, steering column, Lokar shifter linkage to 700R4 tranny, wiring for gas tank, In-Line Tube emergency brake cables, rear brake shoes and bent the fu*k out of the completed and painted passenger side rocker panel with the lift (guess I'll fix that next weekend).

yep....but only after my haze from all the welding and beer wore off....I noticed I didnt have the hole for the speedo cable. :dohh:

As far as the throttle hole, I'm going with a cable and this had the rod setup and I need the sqaure hole for the cable. I'm sure when I go to put it back together I will find more holes I should have left alone and some I should have closed. LOL

I blame my mistakes on this. I was on vacation when I tackled this job and I only drink when I'm on vacation or not on call for work. need less to say I only drink a couple of beers a month and that day I had six

68haywagon 05-15-2005 11:41 PM

Saturday I went to NJ to get the fenders, cab corners, rockers, and few other parts zeeklu (chris) offered me back in Feb. Check out his truck and BSed for a little. Drove home to L-town today to fix the 93's alternator and to get my truck to NEPA this week.

Run the cable in the same general arc as it would have been, but stay inside the cab until you get down to the trans hump area. Pop a grommet in and thread your cable through. After carpet is in place, you'll be all set. Then delete your post above and pretend you did it on purpose :metal:
