Cool, I wonder if anyone has ever taken the back side off to make it look like an Avalache? That would be cool!

Why would anyone want to make anything look like an Avalache????

GM list of biggest mistakes
1) 6.2 diesel
2) 6.5 diesel
3) Diesel Chevette
4) nor more 5.7
5) Avalache
6)Colorodo

too funny!!!

Ok, well if you do it, do it right. Make the top like a truck top and shorten the arse to be more proportional. This would be pretty cool:

Yeah I agree but after that it would be cool. It's got me thinking.

Mike, where did you get those pictures? I looked at an Orange Cheyenne Shortbed (Used to be Longbed) at that same property earlier this year. I believe it's south east of Stockton. Sorry to get off the subject, but I had a deja vu moment.

I got them off eBay a while ago.

There is a guy out of Oregon that does short Burbs. He had a couple of projects at the Portland swap meet this year. If I had the money I'd shorten my panel. http://67-72Tahoe.com

Looks more like a hardtop Blazer than a Tahoe to me. They're built to Blazer proportions with a 104" wheelbase. I know there were 2-door Tahoes in the 90's (that were also called full-size Blazers previously). I'd prefer a removable top Blazer or 3-door Tahoe but those little Blazurbans are cool.

anyone ever just took a blazer, and welded a burb roof on it in place of the fiberglass one?

Yes, but it was a 73-87 Blazer, not a 69-72 body style.

Re: Shorten Suburban

figure that would be alot less work than shortening a burb

I think the "avalanche" truck looks awesome, although FrizzleFry's chop makes it look even better. The only thing I'd offer up as a change would be to add a couple inches of material to the back of the "cab." It just looks too skinny back there.....

Otherwise I love it.

Supposedly, this is a GM built 'burb in Argentina.

And they have "avalanches" there too...

Shortening a Suburban - all the legroom of a Blazer without the amazing headroom.

CG 10-22-2020 08:46 PM

Re: Shorten Suburban

Burbs have a taller roof than the trucks. But when you take the roof off of a Blazer it wins hands down =)
