Help ... Rear-End interchangability

Ok, I apologize up front for posting a VAN question in a Pickup truck forum, but i have queried the world wide web with all types of key words in my quest for answers

I have a 93 G20 with a howling 10bolt that needs to be replaced (rebuilt)... I would rebuild it but whats the point if i can find a 12 bolt or other rear-end that would cost about the same(maybe a little more) to rebuild but last 10 times longer

So, I am wondering if a C-series pickup truck rear-end will bolt into a g-series van. I can fabricate new spring perches/shock mounts if need be but would much rather find a bolt in type replacement

See if you can find a 14-bolt, 6-lug. It's a whole lot stronger and should bolt in. There should be plenty at a pick and pull, the van rearend is generally wider than pickups, at least it is in the older stuff, not nearly as desireable which makes 'em cheaper...

IMo measure backing plate to backing plate and spring perch to spring perch that'll tell you if they work or not.

10 bolts hold up well enough on their own, now racing and such no but driving and hauling yea they work.

I would see why mines holwing first.

Re: Help ... Rear-End interchangability

just find a pre 78 chevy van and get the 12bolt out of one of them..its a bolt in..I have done several...olny thing is those years liked to run a 2.73 ratio...or a 3.08...,if you do the pull it thing..pull cover and find a good gear..

Hint look under the hood on pre 78 chevy vans ..the rear ratio is on the option lable on driver side of hood bottom.

12 bolt is a way better axle..will fit 71-94 cans..95 up went to abs ring on rear end gear.
