Starting 1966 Factory Short Bed Build, Bagged, 383 Stroker and Muncie M20 4-Speed

I just completed a 1969 C10 build, ground up with 5.3 LS and 4L60E. Now, after very recent Divorce, I was able to pick up a 1966 Factory Short Bed for a great price to build.
Plan is complete ground up build. Full roller 383 Stroker with FiTech Fuel Injection, rebuilt M20 Muncie 4-Speed, 3:42 Posi, Flat Red Wrap with Black highlights.
Updates to come.
Any comments are welcome.

Save yourself some heartache down the road and steer clear of Fitech. I'm speaking from experience. Good luck with the build

Jhrusk,

I would sway away from them honestly, but i bought the full kit, all of it 2 years ago, played with it a bit on the 383 early on in my "69 build, i then changed direction and went to LS, so this build i figure i have the system, so ill give it a shot. But i can honestly respect what your saying and trying to help, but i figure i have it, so ill try it. Easy to go back to straight Carb.

Update:

Took 1970 350ci 4-bolt main into machine shop. He was able to clean it up, but he had to go to .060 overbore, making this a 388ci stroker build. I am not happy, only because i already had .040 overbore stroker pistons, so now i have .060 speed pro pistons and rings showing up tomorrow. Oh well...

Hope to be in the 450hp range. 388ci stroker, roller cam and lifters by Howards, roller rockers by Comp Cams, Edelbrock RPM aluminium heads, RPM Intake, Mallory Ignition, and as i stated earlier maybe try the Fitech i currently have or just go with a standard carb.

update 2:

I have read about a few on here going with air bags. There are a few company's out there that have kits designed for C10 that i found. There are some extremely expensive kits, some good priced, and some supper cheap ones. So i found 3 that i have heard about and sent out email requests. one that i will name here is Grunions. Anyways, i got no response from two (one being Grunions) and one i sent the email to the wrong address. So i called Grunions, spoke to young man there who after asking a few questions to him, i noticed he was way to important to be talking with me and then i asked about ordering a kit and he told me that they are too busy now to take my order. I was so blown away by this response! he says let me get your number and ill call you in the next couple days and get your order. After 2 weeks, i was beyond pissed, I called EZ Air Ride. I heard about a guy there named Steve who is the owner and will talk with about your project and steer you to what he thinks is the best and why. So i talked with Steve for 30 min. about my project, what i wanted listened to him and his suggestions. he never tried to steer me to the high end kit! He was just a great guy to talk with, so needless to say, i order my kit from him. He is in Cali and it was on front porch (Washington State) in 4 days. Each part was separately wrapped, and well packed.
I have yet to install it, but DAMN he has great customer service. Now recently i learned that there may be a sponsor on here that does bag kits. I am sorry i did not find them before i ordered my kit as i like to try to support anyone who is a sponsor of the site.
With all that said, i hope to be test fitting all the stuff onto the frame in the next few weeks.
Pics coming......

Update 3:

Sorry for all the messages so quick, been helping my mother through the death of her husband.

The cab completely stripped and is off the frame on the roller box. The frame is without a motor and this weekend will be without a tranny.
going to remove existing suspension, clean it up and start test fitting the air bag kit, shock relocations, and such. Need to cut in the C-Notch, fab up the new shock mounts, weld on the bag plates and such. After that, i have 5 quarts of Por 15 that will be applied after i sand blast the frame.

Pics coming....

It has been sometime since i updated this, so here is a current update where i am.
The main idea is to stay with the full bagged system, 383 stroker and such.
Here are some recent pics of the project.
