Drilling extra holes in frame
Hello,
Any dangers, rules, or pointers I should keep in mind when drilling holes into any part of the frame? I don't want to weaken it or harm the structual intergrity in any way. I don't like the idea of drilling into it at all, but I need to place some clamps in in order to run some cable. Now under the cab area above the spining shaft I made some "L" shaped sheetmetal pieces and used 3M attachment tape to attach them. I drilled into the pieces and not the cab, but I need to run heavy cabling along the inside of the left frame rail. Thank you. Sincerely, IM |

Drill away!
You won't hurt anything. Back in the early sixties there were Pontiac's with a multitude of holes in the frame. Purposefully done to shave off weight for racing. They called them 'Swiss Cheese' Pontiac's!! Check out this frame. http://www.onallcylinders.com/2015/0...eese-catalina/ |

I wouldn't drill any holes near where these frames crack such as steering box and shock mounts.
