1972 2wd blazer price?

1 Attachment(s)
I'm looking at purchasing a 1972 original 2wd blazer.
It is 100% complete and original with exception of wheels.
Is $15,000 a fair price?

Thanks

It appears to be in decent shape. For 15000 it would have to be in better shape. Like almost show worthy. I see a few things wrong. Front grill is dented. Paint is chipped and coming off in spots. Rust in the windshield frame, rockers, and door doesn't looked aligned correctly or close correctly. Does it have a top that goes with it or soft top? I'd say its worth 8-10 grand. If its all original has it been restored previously or all stock. The good I see is its cst trim which is worth more. The interior looks complete and in good shape at least. Mine was a gutted desert cruiser when i bought it. Has anything been rebuilt and what is mileage? Just remember things are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Ive seen a few like this sold under ten grand.

It is original not restored. Has rust on one rocker. Motor is 350 numbers match. The motor was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. I wish I could find a good one for under 10 grand. I've been looking and haven't found any in about a year. Paint is original with some patina. Not missing any parts.

Easily worth $15k in my mind.
Love it.

Is 15, 000 what hes asking? If so , thats not what Id pay, always wiggle room. Looks decent to me.

Having the top is good in my opinion if only for resale. All in all, it depends what your plans are. If you intend to tear into a frame-off redo then no it's not worth it and keep looking for a less expensive builder. If you don't plan to invest a lot of additional $$ to get it to where you want it then go for it. If you factor in the added expense of rust repair and paint that sets you back a lot of $$ on top of the asking price such that you might find another that's redone or close for another 5-10K.

Yeah it looks good but not for that price. I'd keep looking or offer a lot less on it. Are you specifically wanting a 2 wheel drive or will 4x4 do for ya as well? You can definitely find them cheaper. If you are going to restore it as was said I'd find a cheaper one to redo. I bought mine for 2200 and it ran and drove good. Just looked like junk. Depending on your intentions you could buy one and build it for a lot less than 15 gs. Body work done by most shops is not cheap and then you still need to paint it. If you have the money he wants for it you could get a lot nicer truck. New engine rebuild does help but that only ups the price two grand at most on a 8-10 thousand dollar truck. Is this local to you and you can get close up and check everything out? That would make it easier to see what all needs done as well. If it has rusty rockers then the cancer is already there and spreading. Only way to slow it down is to cut out bad pieces and clean up the old metal and coat it will rust inhibitor. Takes time and money more than just the original cost. You can use that to come down on price.

It is still an original 2wd drive. Definitely worth the $15k price but a lower price is always a better buy.

He's got it for 22k on Craigslist : http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv...170898767.html

That guy has been selling/flipping 67-72 trucks for a LONG time

If you want a very nice driver, I think its worth it. Offer less of course. You sure wont build one for that.

I have been watching Ads all over the US and I think this is a good deal, depending on how extensive the rust is in the rocker. If that's the only issue I'd buy it, I'm becoming a sucker for that Ocher paint!

It will take a lot more than $15,000 to make a rusty basket case, anywhere near that nice.

It depends on if you pay to have work done or do it yourself. A shop at a hundred bucks an hour and it will go way over 15000. But at home in the garage it's your time blood sweat that goes into it. I have 6-7 grand into mine and have done all the work myself and although its not done yet it looks pretty damn good. I've always done my own work where I can and am of the built not bought mentality on most things. If you can't do the work or would rather pay for it it's all a choice we all make. Like I said in my first post, it is worth what you are willing to pay for it. I've never had a ton of money to throw around so I'm alerts looking for a deal or a fixer I can buy cheaper. At 15 gs I just have seen better trucks. There's 4 on eBay now ranging 4 to 20 grand. Depends on your skill level and what you want to do with it. If its your dream truck and love the way it is and have the money then go get it. It's a nice truck and I'm not saying it isn't. But there are some issues that can bring down the price some. Hope it works out and everything is good. If its solid when you get a good look at it even better. Post more pics when you get a closer look. I'd like to see underneath by the rockers and rocker boxes.and that windshield frame. Hopefully it's just surface rust.

Is that the biggest factor that it is in good shape and 2 wheel drive? I think there was all 4 wheel drives. I guess it's harder to find a good two wheel drive maybe.
